The majority of the voters love the first era based on their rating.. 2. The most generous voter was Luciano.. :yahoo: 3. The less generous voter was Richie (Why Richie?) 4. Two songs have the same final points..(double time) 5. The most positive point was 11.. (of course) 6. The most negative point was 3.. :nocheer: 7. Only one song has three 11's.. 8. Only one song has six 10's.. 9. Only four songs haven't 10's and 11's although they haven't the lowest score.. 10. Some voters asked me for "Stop For A Minute" and i guess that it would have a big score if it was a part of "The Best Of Keane".. zI9C9j0QgU4 Edited January 13, 201411 yr by Insomnio
January 5, 201411 yr Author No.20 Hamburg Song Average Score : 6.25 Highest Voter : 10 (Luciano) Lowest Voter : 4 (Aphrodite) Hamburg song is the lowest song from this countdown..Basically, it was not a single but they wanted to put it in their greatest hits..It is the only organ-voice Keane song to date..Tim Rice-Oxley said that this song is about his friendship with his bandmate Tom Chaplin. He also explained that after this song, he started writing almost about himself. The first verse was written about his wife, about what she must feel about him sometimes. But when the band got into the studio and it all poured out and turned into a song that was really about friendship. The song was premiered on 20 October 2004 as a demo. The final version was slowed down and the organ sound was changed a little. It doesn't feature drums but a few ride crashes on the outro..It hasn't an official video. January 5, 201411 yr Author No.19 Won't Be Broken Average Score : 6.40 Highest Voter : 10 (Insomnio) Lowest Voter : 4 (Chez Walrus & Richie) Won't Be Broken is their new single and they will release it in the UK on January 20..It seems that most of the voters haven't connected with this song yet but i really like this one.."Won't Be Broken" is "an emotionally honest, piano led song about battling difficult times with determination and hope. The song was recorded during the recording sessions for the band's fourth studio album, Strangeland, released in May 2012. First Lines : I've got a feeling in my gut there's more than this More than I've heard, and more than you're telling HhCgIVQqUGg Edited January 5, 201411 yr by Insomnio
January 5, 201411 yr Author No.18 Disconnected Average Score : 6.45 Highest Voter : 10 (Luciano & Eyes) Lowest Voter : 3 (Richie) Disconnected had slightly a better voting than Won't Be Broken". It was released as the album's second single in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and it was released officially, worldwide, on 8 October 2012..It failed to chart in U.k and it's one of the less popular songs of Keane (Shame!). Tom Chaplin described the song as being a little “rough around the edges”. He sings his heart out about a “connection” that has been lost with another person. He evokes the emotion many of us may have felt when certain relationships in our lives end up in an unforeseeable disintegration making us wonder if we knew the other person at all. "Strangeland" was one of the most underrated albums in last year and "Disconnected"was a part of this album. The music video is quite different than their rest and it was amazing to have a short story with '70s horror movie aesthetic. At least, the video was appreciated and it won Best Video at the Q Awards in London on 22 October 2012.. January 5, 201411 yr Hamburg Song and Disconnected are criminally low. Hamburg Song has to be one of my favourite Keane moments at concerts and Disconnected was simply genius. Won't Be Broken is a nice piece of art but I can see why it is so low, never would've imagined this was to end higher than Hamburg Song which is a really WTF moment for this rundown. Sorry, I'm pressed.

Sorry, I'm pressed. I didn't expect "Hamburg Song" to be the lowest song here..But only you gave 10 points to it. And i was the second voter who gave 7.5..The majority of the voters gave it 6..That's why it was so low. The most valuable thing about this song is the meaning..Keane didn't make music for hits like most of the artists/bands..They wanted to say something important with this song (friendship). There aren't so many songs about friendship..All of them are based on love or sex..There are a few exceptions and "Hamburg Song" is one of them.. I agree with you that Disconnected was simply genius..I thought that it was a cover when i heard it at first time. The sound is so amazing and i thought that someone else sang it first. "Won't Be Broken" is a nice song but the voters haven't connected with it yet..And i'm not sure if this will happen in the future too. It hasn't an official video yet and it seems that they don't care so much to promote this single after the disappointed sales of "Higher Than The Sun". Edited January 5, 201411 yr by Insomnio
January 5, 201411 yr Disconnected this low? Invalid. It's on its way to becoming one of my favourite Keane songs, so interesting for them.

That's why I love Hamburg Song so much, it's very in-depth and meaningful and it portrays friendship from a very unique perspective, or at least that's how I interpreted the song and why it does get to me so much.
January 5, 201411 yr Author Disconnected this low? Invalid. It's on its way to becoming one of my favourite Keane songs, so interesting for them. I love it too but it didn't impress me the fact that it was so low..It failed to be popular everywhere without any particular reason. Many good songs failed to chart in the last two years when rubbish sold loads of singles..It seems that the "hit factor" and the Tv/Radio promotion play an important role to the audience. I thought that people certainly listen music on you tube (like me) but radio and tv are still massive..I still remember the release date of "Disconnected". It was the same week with Swedish House Mafia - Don't You Worry Child and Leona Lewis - Trouble. I still can't believe how it didn't peak in the Top 100. It was not something diffcult.. January 6, 201411 yr Author No.17 Try Again Average Score : 6.60 Highest Voter : 9 (O Mie d'Lorde) Lowest Voter : 4 (Jester) I love/like all the songs from "Best Of Keane" but "Try Again" is my least favourite. I thought that it would be the song with the lowest rating but it never happened.."Try Again" is the tenth track from the second album "Under The Iron Sea". The song was released only in Germany (#39). Rice-Oxley said about "Try Again" : I always think about it as being a commuter's love song. There's something weird about that feeling of being on a train really really late at night when there's just a handful of you there, and I always wonder what everyone's story is - especially people who've been to work and probably got up at some horrendous hour of the morning, and they're traipsing back to their home somewhere in the suburbs. January 6, 201411 yr Author No.16 Higher Than The Sun Average Score : 6.60 Highest Voter : 9.5 (Insomnio) Lowest Voter : 4 (O Mie d'Lorde) It had the same total score with "Try Again" but it had a better highest rating. It received 9.5 from me and 9 from Luciano when "Try Again" received only a 9 from "O Mie d'Lorde. "Higher Than The Sun" was the first single from "The Best Of Keane". It's a brand new song but it didn't manage to catch the attention of the voters. I really like this song. The video is superb. Unfortunately, it didn't chart in the Top 100 (Crime!). At least, it was No.1 in Indonesia (A much bigger country.. :kink:) and it was successful in Belgium (They always know about good music). This song was the best choice from the band to celebrate their 10 years in music!!! January 9, 201411 yr sadly I didnt vote but Disconnected would have got top marks from me, it's a total gem, what a toon, what great lyrics, what emotion....fab!
January 9, 201411 yr Author sadly I didnt vote but Disconnected would have got top marks from me, it's a total gem, what a toon, what great lyrics, what emotion....fab! I totally agree with you. It's a total gem. Generally, Keane have great songs. Tom's voice is one of the best out there!!! The best thing about them is the fact that they are not fake like other bands. Tim Rice-Oxley has written meaningful lyrics with emotion and they never tried to be attention wh***** with statements and scandals like others.. Band with high quality..
January 11, 201411 yr Author No.15 Crystall Ball Average Score : 7.00 Highest Voter : 9 (Insomnio) Lowest Voter : 4 (Richie) This song always makes my mood!!! It was the third single from their second album "Under The Iron Sea". It charted at No.20 in U.k and it was a Top 10 hit in Dutch Singles Chart.!! Crystall Ball has a full story behind it. Tim Rice-Oxley struggled to write a song that period and he felt desparate for this because he could write songs easily in the past. Finally, he tried to write something and he ended up to this beautiful song. Giovanni Ribisi played a bit part in this video. January 11, 201411 yr Really like Crystal Ball & LOVE the Twilight Zone-esque video, just a shame it ends on such an ambiguous note! :o
January 11, 201411 yr Author Really like Crystal Ball & LOVE the Twilight Zone-esque video, just a shame it ends on such an ambiguous note! :o There is even worse..One of the contenders in Eurovision for Greece 4 years ago. The writer said in an interview that she wrote the song on the toilet..Luckily, it failed to be the official participation that year..
January 11, 201411 yr Author No.14 My Shadow Average Score : 7.05 Highest Voter : 10 (RiseR) Lowest Voter : 4 (Richie) There isn't an official video for this but i found an amazing live performance!!! "My Shadow" was initially a pre-order bonus track for their third album "Perfect Symmetry". There was also as an additional track for the Japan Edition of "Perfect Symmetry". Keane also added this song to the "Night Train (Ep) four years ago..Some fans maybe wondered why they preferred to put this song in their best of than "Stop For A Minute". The latter was the only single from that Ep. "My Shadow" means a lot for the band and this is proved from the repetitive lyrics of the chorus" We won't be leaving by the same road that we came by". First two lines : It's time to make a start To get to know your heart ltdHyo-MNrM
January 11, 201411 yr Thanks for finding that video. My Shadow really connects with me for some reason. I'm glad it's on The Best of Keane because it really is one of their very best!
January 12, 201411 yr Author Thanks for finding that video. My Shadow really connects with me for some reason. I'm glad it's on The Best of Keane because it really is one of their very best! Very sad but it's beautiful too. Their performance is really captivate. I think that it was a good addition for their "Best Of" too. I'm glad that you connect with this special song and it means a lot of things to you. It means many things for Keane too. It seems that the majority of the voters have connected with their most popular songs (based on their 10/11).
