Lady Gaga has a new manager. Bobby Campbell, who used to work for Gaga’s original manager, Troy Carter, is now in charge. I met Campbell, who left Carter on the same day as Gaga, last night at MusiCares before Gaga’s magnificent performance of “You’ve Got a Friend.” He’s relaxed, friendly, and young. The Mother Monster starts a big tour soon. In the fall, Sony will release Tony Bennett’s jazz duets album with Gaga as his partner. There is a lot to come in 2014.

 

Meanwhile, Troy Carter hasn’t missed a beat since splitting with Gaga. He’s managing both John Mayer and Miguel. The latter also wowed the crowd last night at MusiCares. Miguel may have will.i.iam do something on a new album he’s recording now for release this summer. Carter has big plans for Miguel, who’s already a big deal from his “Adorn” album and single. Carter’s also invested in a bunch of new media projects. He’s rocking post-Gaga!

Lady Gaga's former manager has broken his silence after the singer accused him of 'gravely mismanaging' and 'betraying' her.

 

Troy Carter - who is credited as being the mastermind behind Gaga's rise to fame - has opened up about being sacked by the 27-year old.

 

'It's like you wake up and you work with somebody everyday, and then all of a sudden they're not there anymore,' he said after parting ways with the singer in November last year.

 

'I don't think you're ever prepared to sever that deep of a relationship.'

 

The 41-year old reminisced about his first meeting with Gaga, claiming he instantly 'believed' in her.

 

'She walked in with these huge sunglasses on, fishnet stockings, and basically told me how she was going to change the game.

 

'She was a performing artist calling herself Lady Gaga, who had a European dance-club sound and pop-star aspirations - elements that historically haven't mixed,' he told Fast Company.

 

'Def Jam Records had just dropped her. I believed her.'

 

Gaga previously claimed she felt 'betrayed' by certain members of her team and was 'gravely mismanaged'.

 

She wrote in a 477-word blog: 'Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result.'

I'm stressing so much.This era has not lived up to expectations and I think it is because Gaga took the front seat with this album and that's why she felt betrayed.You can see it with her been so involved with production.And I think when she is in control that's where she flops to be honest.....

Her management were ace back in the day with The Fame/Monsters eras. From BTW on, almost every release has spiraled into chaos. But I personally believe Gaga is not at fault here, most pop artists management do tend to get careless after an artist's debut era. If Gaga was managed by Katy Perry's people for example, this era would be a lot more successful I guarantee you. The management switch up is a positive thing definitely, especially after the disaster release of DWUW.

But Katy's management got it wrong with prism.its sales may be decent but there aren't any hits on the album besides Roar and Dark Horse.

 

I guess managers will always be a problem.but if Gaga can release Dope now and if the rumours of Artpop Act 2 are true, things can turn around for her...

I'm just worried about the radio play!! Radio was huge on her with past albums, her new manager must make deals and get it back to that!

Katy's management is not a fail at all. Prism has spawned two hit singles so far and Dark Horse is set to reach #1 soon in the US, something which Gaga hasn't had since Born This Way.

But Unconditionally flopped and after Dark Horse she will have no hits left on the album to spawn.Every management team has their flaws...

That's a very subjective thing to say, I believe Legendary Lovers and Walking on Air are both potential hits.

Walking On Air did worse than Venus as a promo single which is called a flop,how will WOA be a hit as a single then I don't know.prism got almost the same amount of negative reviews as Artpop so after Dark Horse,Katys managers will have to pull a miracle out the bag for the rest of the albums era...

Getting a high peak means nothing if it drops like a stone and sells peanuts though. Throwing everything out at once is a daft idea.

Good point.I meant the timing must just be good.For example if the song is top 20 on iTunes from airplay drop the video.Not 10 years later...

The tour is selling like hotcakes though.There's still lots of demand for Gaga,her new management just need to get the release of single 3 right and things will look better...

ARTPOP is far from dead!! Do What U Want and the album are still in the charts and Applause has nott vanished completely either! The 3rd single just needs to be announced within the next few weeks & its back to winning ways for Gaga :D
