February 2, 201411 yr I usually buy the extra tracks individually on iTunes if I already have the album, which I usually do if it's someone I like (and quite often buy albums the day they come out). The only exception I can think of is Bad Blood, which I bought originally on iTunes but wanted the CD version as well, seeing as I like to have all my favourite albums on CD. So when the re-release came out, I bought the CD. That way, whilst I was only getting a few extra tracks, I was also getting the ones I had before on CD for the first time, so it was worth it, plus I contributed two sales to the album. Win-win situation! (I wouldn't do it unless I loved the album though)
February 2, 201411 yr Normally the albums I rush out to buy are albums by bands who don't re-release albums such as Muse, Foo Fighters, Paramore. Others I will normally wait a few singles before getting or will wait until Christmas or a Birthday to get them. I have been very lucky music fan. Looking at my CD collection at the moment, the only album I can see that has been re-issued is Stereophonics Just Enough Education To Perform. :)
February 2, 201411 yr Author I dont think I have many re-issues. I did not buy Bloc Party's Silent Alarm until the re-release but that was just to having a copy burnt of the original album so I didn't feel like I was actually waiting for a re-release. It just so happened that I saw it cheap and it had Two More Years on it. Actually, Bloc Party were terrible for re-issuing their albums with one or two extra tracks, one of which was usually a single. I didn't buy the re-issues. Just found the extra tracks illegally.
February 2, 201411 yr To be fair, the first three Bloc Party albums only had singles added to them (though the Silent Alarm re-issue also added a DVD) so you could quite reasonably acquire the single alone if you wanted to - to me just adding a single to an existing album isn't quite the same thing. It did mean though that after this had happened three times I didn't buy the fourth album when it came out. And sure enough they did add a whole EP to it, admittedly also available separately.
