The Script - The User's Guide to Being Human
I really like this, great breezy guitar track, though it does sound similar to Deepest Blue’s It’s a Sin.

Radio 1 Playlist (10/07/26): Invisible white noise in the danceteria
They’ve seriously playlisted Madonna without a feature from one of their regulars? Never expected that. Good to see Calvin finally make A List. Was expecting that to come off this week with the new Jazzy track added so good to see both on.

Radio 1 Discussion
Greg James will get an extra half hour on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast this summer to make up for his time off at Taylor Swift’s wedding(!). The station says its summer 2026 schedule will begin on Monday 20 July, with Greg staying on air until 11am from Monday to Thursday. The change means Radio 1 Breakfast will run for four hours during the summer, before the usual schedule returns on Monday 7 September, when Greg is back on from 7am to 10:30am. Rickie Haywood-Williams, Melvin Odoom and Charlie Hedges will move to an 11am start during the same period, continuing with entertainment, music and Live Lounge performances. On Fridays, Nat O’Leary and Vicky Hawkesworth will present Radio 1 Anthems from 10am to 11am, with songs from the 2000s, 10s and 20s. Greg said: “I took some last minute days off for a destination wedding I had to go to and I need to make the time up to be honest so it feels like 30 mins a day over the summer is a good plan.” Aled Haydn Jones, Head of BBC Radio 1, said the station was adjusting to changes in younger listeners’ routines over the summer. Radio 1 will also broadcast live festival coverage from Ibiza, Malta and Reading and Leeds this summer, following earlier weekends at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Download, TRNSMT and Parklife.

It's better than Wet Wet Wet, Drake and Bryan Adams so it may as well have the record at this point

Now That's What I Call Music!
It costs money to fill the discs up by licesnsing the tracks to fill them up with and given the volumes they are likely to sell it will affect the bottom line. I should imagine it costs a lot more to license newer songs than it does older songs for the Yearbook series. Must also be a cost issue for them not to be able to release these on vinyl to maximise the sales? Surely there is a good market for modern Now's to be available on Vinyl, even if its out a few weeks after the CD version. It may help bring people who have stopped buying the series back too as its an opportunity of getting the latest hits on Vinyl without buying the artist albums.

What's the beef with Noah Kahan? Doors out already?

Looks like ‘My Body Isn’t Ready’ could be the first single from Sombr to not debut in the Top 40 since he broke through with ‘Undressed’.

Capital FM Playlist 2026
I think if it's a track that is quite unusual for them to play then by all means mention it but for the standard ex playlist run of the mill ex-playlist recurrents you'd expect them to play I don't think there's much point in going on about them.

Star Guitar - belter and a very clever video

ANOTR & 3DDY - Like It
It’s not as strong as ‘Talk To You’ but it’s not bad. I do think it’s probably too soon to follow up - should have put out some remixes to try and boost TTY really.

Radio 1 Playlist (15/05/26): Radio 1's Big Weekend in Sunderland
If I recall recorrectly Calvin Harris fell victim into having a late playlist add last year with 'Blessings' thanks to the Big Weekend playlist and looks like 'Satisfy' may also be also get a late add too.

Radio 1 Playlist (08/05/26): The saviour of rock music comes from Boston
Thought they would have swapped Noah Kahan with Doors. Bit of a surprise not to see Calvin x Jazzy. Will no doubt be added next week but will do well on airplay from the dance shows this weekend. Wonder if they held off from an insta add due to the under performance of Ocean and Release The Pressure? Or just could have been submitted too late for the playlist meeting this week.

Friday Chart Predictions
Foo Fighters last album sold 44,513 in its first week back in 2023 though I’m not sure how much hype there’s been for this new album but should do about 35-40k. Even though Noah Kahan’s last album has been a constant seller I’m not sure if this one will top Foo Fighters sales but will probably sell well enough to be an easy Number 1 in a quieter week. Michael Jackson’s harder to predict as it will depend on how the OCC distribute the streams between the soundtrack album and Essential Michael Jackson and of course how many physicals get sold, though Number 1’s was back in the Top 10 just a month or two back thanks to new vinyls so could be in for a Top 3 of high sales.

Radio 1 Playlist (24/04/26): The sun comes up on my tremendous new religion
Great to see BeBe Rexha on this week and a return to the playlist for Faithless for the first time since like 2007 I'm guessing? (even though they are only credited to allow for the track to be released).

Radio 1 Playlist (17/04/26): Mr Know It All has the potential to drop dead
They been abit ruthless with the removals this wek. Miley off after 3 weeks and Alex Warren already off. Wonder if Taylor Swift will end up stalling on B List. No surprises at sombr, Lewis and Olivia straight to A List this week.
