Yorkshire Police Press release

Robbie Williams Plays Leeds

Thursday 31 August 2006.

West Yorkshire Police are all set to welcome over 85,000 people into Leeds as Robbie Williams plays Roundhay Park on 8th and 9th September.

To ensure the event is as safe as possible and traffic continues to flow on surrounding roads, West Yorkshire Police have issued the following advice:

Traffic

Leeds City Council are the lead agency for the management of traffic around the Robbie Williams Concert at Roundhay Park. For further information on these plans log onto www.leeds.gov.uk

Attendees are advised to use public transport where possible or share lifts to and from the event. If enough people do this, your potential travelling time will be significantly reduced.

For those intending to take cars please ensure you leave sufficient travelling time. Leeds already has an extremely busy road network and this will be put under further pressure throughout the event. West Yorkshire Police will be supporting Leeds City Council and the event organisers in ensuring traffic continues to flow however some delays are anticipated.

Crime Prevention Advice

Whilst at the event, it’s important to remember the usual crime prevention measures that you would use if you were in a city centre. Make sure you don’t leave any valuables on display and ensure that your car is left locked at all times.

It’s easy to have a carefree attitude at this type of occasion but remember to take the same precautions you would on any other night out.

Should you wish to report a crime, contact Police on 0845 6060606 or in an emergency call 999.
