Amazing how the Brits have totally ignored TT. What more do they want? A 25 year old band going to number 1 in the singles and album charts and having a sell out tour. Really makes a mockery of the award.

Presume they won't perform now either. Would of been a big opportunity to do GRFI

Not that big of a surprise. The Brits have never really been keen on TT. Probably won best group due to Rob's return. Most, if not all of their previous Brit awards have been voted for by the public.

Possible they may not win any further Brits unless they have such a resurgence in sales that they can't be ignored. Interesting to compare ID and TT - Brits have bent over backwards to ensure ID win, going as far as to introduce new categories to accommodate them.

A Life Time Achievement Award is indeed their best change of winning.

They have the most BRIT Awards by any group and overall second behind Robbie, being snubbed this year doesn't really matter to be honest.

Yes they have, but I think the point is that they were won on the public vote. I think only best group was chosen by the industry which suggests that music bigwigs don't rate TT - not that it matters I guess.

If ID win for best group it will be an interesting comparison to TT ( and I make the comparison not because I think they are equal in terms of quality, but because both are considered' boy bands')who had to wait 20 odd years for that accolade, have full control over their song writing and are heavily involved in the production side.

I'm sorry, but whoever wins now the Best British Group is just a big joke. Not having TT nominated for that category is beyond ridiculous. The Brits have lost all credibility.

Anyway, I'd rather TT won another Ivor than a Brit.

Not on any shortlist at the Brits is most ridiculous. I most certainly agree with earlier posts about the Brits bending over backwards to have One Direction on the lists and also that they win an award. Nothing against One Direction as they work hard and some of their music i enjoy. In general the Brit awards are extremely weird, some winners are always so questionable each year.

I am surprised the wonderful Ella Henderson actually got nominated as outside of One Direction the Brit academy is very X Factor biased, i notice again no nomination for Olly Murs. I had hoped Take That would be performing but it looks highly likely they wont be. I would believe Sam Smith will have a triumphant night, after all he is Brits choice winner from last year and like Emeli Sande they will not let him walk home with no awards. That said he has had a phenomenal year as did Ed Sheeran.

I'd rather Sam Smith beat Ed Sheeran. Sick to death of the songs from X being played again and again and again on the radio.

Good point about Olly. Just proves how out of touch they are.

Olly not being nominated after having 2 hits and releasing his best album to date is an absolute joke. His snub was the one that made me mad the most.

If Take That don't get a nom next year...

I dont think Olly will be surprised as he has openly talked about how frustrated he feels about the Brits.

Good to see Three still holding top 15 this week, i am disappointed with the 10 place drop for these days.

I think These Days will climb this week. It has been on a sort of roller-coaster the past week for some reason, but it seems to have stabilized now.

It seems Take That will perform at the Brits after all. http://www.unrealitytv.co.uk/showbiz/take-...williams-going/

The article says that the album was released too late to be considered for this year's nominations, just like Since I Saw You Last last year. I hope that's the case and that they were not snubbed by the Brits.

That's good news at least! Do we know if they'll do Get Ready For It?

Strange about it being too late...Progress was released mid November, as was SISYL and BW (I think?) still no reason why they should haven't been nominated for best group.

Hopefully These Days will stabilise and spend a couple more weeks at least in the top 40.

Another 15,000 for it this week, and 5,000 for the album. These Days is closing on 300,000 now, and the album is approaching the 450 mark, hopefully soon

The article mentions they could be doing Let In The Sun. I don't have anything against them doing this song, but I don't see the logic behind it. Why would they use such a big promo opportunity for a song that won't be a single, as far as we know (yet)? It would make much more sense if they did Get Ready For It.
A Brit performance of Get Ready For It would be the boost it needs to raise the profile of the song. It would not harm album sales either.

I see the difference between These Days (27) and Sia's Chandelier (19) is only 1k, which is very little. It makes the 27 spot look not so awful anymore.

Take That are also headlining War Child on February, 23. I don't know if that can be considered a promo opportunity, but it's better than nothing.

Sales are extremely close, that may indicate a possibility of These Days heading in a more positive direction this week.
450,000 is a shame for an album of a major group even in times like this. They have not even sold 50,000 outside of the UK. They have done anything what is possible in the TK promowise and still they match not even Gary's and Robbie's solo UK sales (Aside that Robbie sold more than a million of Swings both ways outside the UK either) That must hurt a lot. Fortunately the UK tour sold well.

I don't think we need to drop Robbie's name in every single post or mention how great (and unreal) his sales were.

Besides, I still don't see how TT did everything possible promotion wise, when their promotion has been minimum so far and non-existent outside UK.

Maybe one of their wives could get pregnant and upload videos of the child's birth B-)

Half a million sales are amazing, especially for a group whose image was trashed by the press in the worst way possible. Curious how many albums Robbie would sell if his name had been mentioned as well during the scandal? So, at the end of the day, TT afforded to lose fans. Can the same be said about other current artists?

The issue has been done to death now. Most of us have recognized the significant downturn in their album sales this time around and recognized Rob's far greater popularity outside of the UK - nothing more to be said on the matter really.

It would be nice to focus on their upcoming performances on Jonathan Ross, BRITS and the War Child concert. It's really lovely to have them back after nearly four years away (even if there's only 3) Jason's leaving could easily have seen the end of TT. Fans need to relish and appreciate the fact they've carried on because the three could easily have decided to end it.

If anyone hasn't seen their Kingsman performance I'd highly recommend it!! 3,4, or 5 their live performances are second to none.

Elisabeth - as dylandog and Milly have said, the sales aspect has been done to death. Yes, we would like 2 million in 2 months, but they have done great considering all factors mentioned above.

Milly - I read that article and it said something about a potential duet? Usually the Brits performances are released

On iTunes. Would be interesting if they hooked up with Sam Smith or someone. I'd prefer Get Ready For It though. As long as the second song does well in the charts I'll be pleased.

Jonathan Ross on Saturday, they are filming it tomorrow apparently
