Nice review of the War Child concert in the Guardian newspaper but a warning; don't read the accompanying comments They are brutal!

They usually are <_< The Guardian is the favorite place for haters to get together.

Great performance last night. Into the top 100, hoping to see this climb when the live version is released.

The visuals were amazing last night.

It's great to see the album climbing as well after last night. Just hope it can maintain momentum for a while.

It really needs to show big signs of increasing very soon for it to chart.

The live version is on Google play this year, it's a free download as are all of them so doubt theyll chart

If you take out the duplicate entries, it's at #71

If anything it will be extremely lucky to enter low top 100, top 75 certainly wont happen now. I only watched the Brits last night, while let in the sun was good there was something missing from the performance and the song didn't come alive in the way take that songs normally come alive when performed live. On a brighter note the album moves up to number 18 in today's midweeks.

Agree with you about the Brits performance. I thought the staging was great with the sun and lights and I hope we have something like that on tour. However I do think Gary's vocals were a bit off and not as strong as their War Child performance of the song earlier in the week.

However I think the main problem with the Brits was the staging. The three were too separate from one another. Gary out in front and Howard and Mark on the side lines and set back. Because of this it didn't look or feel like a band performance - I think that was the main issue.

Can it chart even if it hasn't been released as a single yet?

They are on Ant and Dec next week

Unfortunately they won't be performing.

Without promotion, the single won't do well.

And if the promotion for the 2nd single is so low, I don't even want to imagine what it'll be like for the 3rd single. I'd be so disappointed if the 3rd single was Flaws and it flopped

They aren't performing? Surely they will be? Otherwise what's the point?

So unfortunately Let in the Sun didn't chart top 100 and was the only song performed on the night at The Brits not to chart as Madonna charted and others went up multiple places. Kanye new track wasn't available. If they can't get a song to chart after The Brit awards then the omens don't look good. Every reunion album post 2006 has had at least 2 charting songs regardless of where they were placed.

I've heard many people say that it just isn't Take That anymore just the three of them and I think the tax issue now clearly has had an effect and the way they handled it also with the silence. An announcement saying how much has been paid back etc should have been made with an apology as unless I'm completely wrong I think it would be sincere or at least hoping that's the case. I mean on twitter when they came on it was full of jokes 'Take Tax' 'Tax That' 'the ticker tape reigning down is the money they owe' 'I'm sure there were more of them?' etc etc

The album however went up three places which is at least something and still means the album is being sold off just the one lead off song if no others are breaking into the national charts.

Agree that if they aren't performing on the show it's pointless. McBusted were there this week as just the announcers and it looks like a waste of time for the musicians doing that.

Mark has said they are doing new music so they clearly saw that a 4 year gap was too long as pop moves on however if it's the three of them I think it'll be equal sales wise or more than likely less as they slide backwards. I know people will say 'it's not about sales/chart positions' etc but the band themselves have said they want to remain relevant and have commercial success.

Regardless of whether they perform on Ant and Dec I can't see the single charting higher than the high 20's. I like the song but its an album song and not strong enough to stand alone. As much as I like lll, its weakness is the lack of stand out songs. Its a strong album and it works well in its entirety but it lacks those two or three songs which stand above the rest.

I would have released Higher Than Higher, Into the Wild or something like Flaws - I really can't see a third single with the tour so close. I've also noticed the poor production values of the videos released for lll - its obvious that the budget is tight. Productions values were higher for GRFI but maybe the film company contributed to the cost as it was promotion for the film.

I have to say I prefer some of the songs from Finding Neverland- the title song and What You Mean To Me are really, really lovely ballads. I miss the old TT or Beautiful World. Given the lack of lll songs showcased at War Child I'm always wondering if the tour will heavily weigh in favour of songs pre lll?

Agree with everything. Although Let In the Sun is getting good reviews, I'd have much preferred Higher than Higher for the 2nd single.

I thought they would perform too, but someone on twitter just told me there would only be an interview with little A and D :(

I'm maintaining some optimism that Let In the Sun will chart - no matter how low. It would have probably charted this week if fans had downloaded it this week. But considering fans are aware that the single is released on the 9th, they could be waiting till then to buy it.

Must say, very disappointed that it missed the top 100...but let's not forget that These Days and III both topped the charts and they sold out their tour as usual, so I don't buy the people don't like the 3 aspect.

I agree that although the album is good, there just wasn't a strong follow up that could stand on it's own. They just aren't promoting enough.

Edit - how many bands like TT have a charting second single? Let alone a number 1 single and album? We mustn't forget the likes of Boyzone, Spice Girls, Blue, Steps, Backstreet Boys didn't... and younger bands don't achieve much as they get older commercially.

Hopefully the physical copies will be enough to get it into the top 100, and with any luck they'll have a programme coming soon before the tour in the same way Gary had with James Corden

I'm not sure its as simple as promotion or lack of. Artists like Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran et al don't promote that heavily on TV. However, they do get extensive radio play on all stations including Radio 1. TT get good radio airplay through Radio 2, Heart etc but obviously miss out on Radio 1.

One review of their War Child gig pointed out that it wasn't a sell out and someone else made a remark along the lines of ... who would have thought Jason would be the deciding factor in them not selling out arenas. There are undoubtedly some who do not like TT as a three - as a massive fan I also find it strange watching just the three of them as visually it looks so different. Losing one member when there's five doesn't change the dynamic too much, dropping down to three from four most certainly does.

I think the issue of TT's falling popularity is a really interesting one. I've mentioned my thoughts on the matter before and I believe a range of factors play a part. However, above all else it comes down to the musical output, and whilst I and many others like lll it really isn't strong enough in terms of capturing the floating buyer. I think they've deviated away from their earlier comeback sound and consequently they've struggled to retain the public's support.

Their next album, if there is one, needs to focus on recapturing their previous sound and they do need to promote along the lines of Audience with to re capture some fans who have drifted away.

I'm not a huge TT fan if I'm honest but I came across Let In The Sun by sheer coincidence when I was in TGI's on Saturday night. I think the song is brilliant and I bought it immediately after hearing it. It's a shame it's not catching on :(
