Hope you're watching on the red button, Kath. Sounding good and I love the fact he hasn't lost his accent in spite of his many years in LA. If he is in his 70's Jeff is ageing very, very well indeed, in fact he's hardly changed.

Strange to see Mike, Milton and the rest of the gang backing him. Some great tunes, but by god I suddenly feel very old. Where has the time gone ? :)

He'll be 68 in December! He does look good though. To be honest - I can't even try to get tickets - I've got to go to work tomorrow so I'll miss out - I'm assuming all tickets will be sold out within half an hour.

I think to be honest though - at my age - I shouldn't really be wasting money on concerts anymore! I need to put some money away for holidays.

I'm watching ELO on the red button. I love them. The new album sounds great too.

Jeff Lynne is a musical genius. B-)

I'm hoping I can afford to go and see them.

I don't want to go unless I'm sat in the front blocks - and they're £120 each for the Echo Arena! Plus - it says the layout may change - may start off thinking I've got great seats and may well end up not as well as I thought they were! I know that ELO IS Jeff Lynne - but I really had hoped that maybe we'd have a few of the others there in addition to Richard Tandy. It would have been good to see Bev Bevan, Mik Kaminski, Melvyn Gale (swoon when I was 18) and Hugh McDowell. And .. sadly Kelly Groucutt died a few years back.

Not overly long to wait until we get the new version of Three. I would be ever so disappointed if it missed the top 10.
Well I got my ticket to see Jeff!!!! In the front block as well!

I knew you'd cave it ... too temping to resist. I bet you have a fantastic time. I'd forgotten have many wonderful hits ELO had. A fantastic songwriter and the sign of a great one is when the songs stand the test of time, which Jeff's certainly have.

As for TT - performing in Zurich tonight but rather strange not to see them perform on CIN. I've read some unpleasant comments on line so maybe it was best they kept a low profile - dread to think what would have been written otherwise.

The album is getting very little attention - Adele and ID appear to have cornered the market in press coverage. I guess TT may get Top 5 which will be a poor show for them overall. A SCD appearance next week and I hope they showcase one of the other songs and not HB. I would actually like to hear something like Freeze , Into the Wild or Higher Than Higher but I very much doubt any of those three will be chosen.

A top 5 wouldnt be really a poor show, the Circus new version reached number 3 as did the beautiful world deluxe and the progress live album missed the top 10, as interest has dropped sharply in them, a top 10 with the re-release would be a good outcome. I just want it to get the album to double platinum.

Kath im delighted you got your ticket and a good one, you will be in for one hell of a night with you such a big fan.

My memory must be letting me down. I was sure the BW release , Circus Live and Progressed album all reached No 1 but only for one week?

Feel so sorry for some genuine fans. There's a guy on DS says he tried for tickets straight away (not sure which venue) but they were gone very quickly - when he was searching later - tickets were being sold on via a secondary site for around £500. I suppose I was lucky with Liverpool. I didn't start looking until about 9.05 on Friday and got a good seat (barring the person in front of me being a giant!) I even went on out of curiosity later on and there were still tickets a lot further back (they're all gone now of course).

Progressed went number 1, but progress live reached number 12 ,the others peaked at number 3.

The reissue will struggle but I'd be surprised if it didn't make the top 10. Sales are low this year so they only need to sell 10-12k. I would assume the hardcore fans will buy it. I've preordered it and looking forward to it.

Sam Smith's reissue with new material only seemed to add about 6k to his average recently weekly sales this week but granted it didn't have the bonus of a tour DVD as an extra, so it will be interesting to see how TT do.

Ed Sheeran might be a good barometer, X sold 13k last week, and has been re-released with a few extra songs and a DVD this week so we'll see how much the album's sales rise by. If it's only something like 7-10k then that might be the sort of boost that III might get.

Problem is, X is already in the top ten whereas III is nowhere near. So whereas Ed's potential extra 10k will take him to 23k, Take That's extra 10k won't give them a top ten position. Maybe the DVD will entice more buyers than I expect though, we'll see.

I was surprised Sam Smith didnt chart and sell much higher with the re-release as i expected far more. I think Ed Sheeran will do better. The Three re-release is very had to call, but i would think (or like too) that they have enough loyal fans to get 15,000 sales or more on release week as the fans will want the dvd and they are good dvd sellers.

I haven't really kept up with this release. Are they releasing this Monday and does anyone know what other artists are releasing at the same time? I will be buying it for the DVD rather than the four additional songs.

I hadn't realised that sales were so low, but it terms of Sam and Ed they have both sold vast amounts, so the capacity for further sales is limited. I would hazard a guess that Adele will buck the trend and sell in huge numbers. I still think there is a buying public out there if the music is right - as both Sam and Ed have proved over the past year. Unfortunately for TT their recent sound has captured the public's imagination.

They're releasing on Friday.

I'm hopeful they'll go top 5. They've been in top 40-60 on Amazon for the past month, so that should help a bit, plus they have the SCD performance on Sunday.

Thanks, Milly. I will buy the new album primarily for the DVD, although I am interest to hear the other three tracks.

Hopefully, SCD will give them some kind of momentum - and I hope they either do a melody with old and new songs (minus Hey Boy) or choose a different song off lll. I don't think they should have gone for a re-release and should just have released the DVD in early December in time for the xmas market.

I also question if there's much of an appetite for a re-release of the album, but I hope I'm wrong and it sells really well.

I get the feeling the DVD would have sold a lot more as an actual DVD package, promoted as just that.

I wonder if a lot of people will even notice it tacked onto the back of the new edition of the CD. Still, I'm all for anything to get III past half a million sales :drama:
