It is starting to look worrying they will miss the top 10. With some luck Strictly Come Dancing will have boosted today's sales.

I really don't understand the low sales. As I've said before hundreds of thousands went to the tour so it's not unreasonable to assume that around 50 - 100,00 would buy a copy, but they haven't. If it was a poor tour I could understand, but the reviews on sites were absolutely fantastic, so very few came away disappointed.

It's really rather strange... There's a story about the DVD on the Daily Mail website picking up on 'fans' criticism due to the faults many have experienced. They've posted a few negative stories about the band in recent times and it looks like some of the press are taking any opportunity to print less than positive things about TT.

That is the joy (or not) been part of a phenomenal like Take That, when your a star at the top of the tree all gods shine down, when you fall from the top the knives come out. They have been here before and got the t-shirt (mainly Gary) so i cant see it at all bothering him/them.

I think it will Pippa. I know Gary has a hard outer shell but they must be acutely aware of the sales figures. They would have expected better sales and I've no doubt so did the record company. The lll era started out relatively well but it hasn't fulfilled it's initial promise.

There isn't any hype around them any more and the lack of radio air play has been most obvious this time around. It's a shame they didn't put greater thought into how they could effectively market the album and the re-lease. If ever they needed a TV special it was this time around. I wonder why they didn't go down that avenue?

I have to agree Dylandog. Eyebrows will be raised around the 1.5 million missing sales from this album when compared to the others.

The record label won't do anything impulsively, after all, TT have still sold half a million albums and 400,000 copies of These Days. That said, I think they'll be pushing a Greatest Hits now.

Suddenly, I think it's absolutely essential that they get Robbie and Jason to return for the next record. They need the hype around them again and this is a sure fire way to guarantee that.

You may be right, Jay. The problem is the return of Jay and Rob would open up questions about the viability of the three as a going concern. I can imagine the media slanting the narrative around the need to have Rob on board to boast sales and popularity. It may be a short term fix but people are creatures of habit and may not appreciate the constant changes in the band.

I question the decision to have Rob back in the first place. I think it derailed the group after they'd forged a separate identity without him. Yes, they profited in the short term, but I'm not sure it was beneficial in the long run.

Sadly, I don't see Jay returning. I think he made a decision and I would be highly surprised if he changed his mind. We will never know all the reasons for his departure but I wonder if he would still be on board if the status quo hadn't changed in 2010?

I think it's rather sad that two good songs and one great song have been shoe horned onto a re release - this era has been so poorly managed.

Robbie hasn't had a proper solo release in a while, so perhaps that'll happen next Xmas. Will be interesting to see what he does if it goes up against TT.

He may surprise everyone and promote both records.

Saying that though, I'd rather Jason over Robbie, but you can't overlook the fact that his name sold Progress and his name will get the media on side again in the run up to the anniversary of TT&Party.

I do hope Jason rejoins at some point. I'm sure conversations have already been going on for a while. Let's wait and see.

I think Robbie returning was a huge part of their downfall and i think in general fans of neither didnt really want it or feel it was needed. The main thing that's wrong with the Three era is lack of killer singles outside These Days. There was nothing else that you could call an album seller on the album. Hey Boy was also the wrong choice of single to launch the re-release, its like they picked the weakest track from the new ones which is crazy.

I do think a Greatest Hits is next and i hope they capitalize on it (assuming it does very well) they could re-build interest. I still think one or two killer trade mark ballads is whats totally missing and if they sat down and really analyzed the situation they would know that. I have no doubt both the band and the record company are very aware of the decline in sales but again if they paid proper attention to it they would have got the re-release far more on the money with the lead single.

Three has done ok, and i look at the whole situation a little differently, to comeback and achieve what they did is amazing and 10years on from the reform they are doing well. 10/11 years ago i never in a million years thought i would have 4 more studio albums and 5 live/extended albums from all for which i enjoy. I am thankful for that and the many great singles and i hope there is at least 1 more studio album left in them with a few trade mark songs along with a very impressive greatest hits package. The return will only be remembered as one of the greatest comebacks of all time and they have achieved some impressive sales along the way and more importantly delivered some fantastic live tours.

I also am hopeful for another solo album from Gary as i love Since I Saw You Last. That is also something i never expected, that Gary would be back with what would be his biggest solo selling album and release an album that would outsell a Take That album.

Looks like sales of the new edition will drop of, all the reviews are now saying the dvd is faulty, something wrong the master copy. Amazon have withdrawn selling it. What a blunder if all the dvds are like this. I had to order mine online as my local store isnt stocking it, i really hope i dont have to go through the hassle of sending it back.
I'm not surprised this isnt doing that well although no6 midweek is a lot better than I expected. Hey boy didn't make top 40. Only four new tracks on the cd. Yes, the DVD is worth getting but how many of the general public seem interested or know about this re-release? It's not been promoted very well. I think Take That are on a decline unfortunately.

As a Robbie fan I loved Progress. I loved the album, the lyrics and the tour.

It also meant for the first time I bought a TT album and I went to a TT gig. In fact I went twice. It introduced me to TT songs I wouldn't normally have heard. I loved the whole thing. It was two fan bases buying one album. After that buzz anything else is going to be anti climatic.

In response to a Jay thing. On Look Back Don't Stare doesn't Jay say that having Robbie back kept his interest going for another album and tour? They had a really close bond over Progress. :)

This is getting very depressing :(

I may be selfish, but I'd rather TT kept selling low than see Robbie or Jay return. If it's one thing I dislike in life is disloyalty. I want to see what TT as a trio have still to offer. At the end of the day, it's their music I'm listening to, not their sales. I, for one, couldn't put up with another album of Robbie leads; if I wanted that, I'd be buying his records.

It's obvious that the news about the dvd being damaged has spread quite fast and fans are weary of buying it till it's fixed. Beside, there's been no advertising of the dvd being out, as there usually is, so most fans probably aren't even aware. I doubt there are many fans who went to see their tour who wouldn't want the dvd.

Universal really has to step up their game and get the boys more promo slots - tv slots, not radio.

I think it's much too early to say they are on a decline. I've said it before but we are talking about a half million selling #1 album and a Gold selling #1 single.

If they were missing the top 10 with the album and not charting with the lead single, then I'd say you're probably right.

They need to get the next release right. I'd rather it just be a GH of the post 2005 stuff though, the Never Forget edition is selling fine as it is. Promotion will obviously be key to whatever they decide to go with. It feels like the tax thing has played a part in them trying to keep their heads below the parapet. The best promo I think they could get would be Rob rejoining. I don't necessarily want that, but if they want to get the media and sales back they'll have to do something big. A reunion of 4 or 5 would certainly do that

I haven't see any advertising for the DVD but apparently there have been some TV slots. It's such a shame the DVD isn't garnering more interest because it was a really good show. Universal's response has been poor and they should have recalled the faulty stock immediately.

I remember the Progress DVD release and it was everywhere. I think Universal have simply lost interest in the band post Progress and moved on to other, younger artists.

I would absolutely love Jay to return, it isn't quite the same without him. I know Jay has said positive things about Rob but if you look carefully at the body language from the Progress era I believe there were unresolved issues. I think Mark and Gary were instrumental in paving Rob's return and Howard and Jay were side lined. The Circus era was a fantastic one with a universally acclaimed tour - they didn't need Rob's return. They could have released a new album two years after Circus and it would have done very well in my view. Rob's return split the fan base/image. I apologise to all Rob fans but I simply don't like him. I acknowledge that he was an integral part of TT first time around but I became a fan of the four and I identified with them and not their earlier incarnation.

I don't know how I feel about them continuing if their decline continues. I love the band but I also want them to produce fab music and have that recognized.

Now that Amazon has withdrawn all dvd-s, the sales will really take a tumble :(

I agree with you, dylandog. I really love TT and I'll support them for as long as they make good music, but I want them to get recognition as well. I hate seeing comments like "they are has beens", "they should retire" and so on. The label should really put more effort into the promotion, because TT are one of their biggest acts, not to mention their most profitable probably - I don't know that many acts that pay for their own tours like TT are. The labels are the ones investing in tours and getting their profits afterwards, but, since their return, TT have been paying for the staging of all their tours, which is a lot of money. Given all that, Universal should get behind the boys more and, at least, get the dvd-s right and some important tv slots and advertising.

I would love to see a performance of Will You Be There For Me on the X Factor. At least then I'd know that both the label and the boys are making an effort into turning this era into a success.

I don't like Jason very much at the moment, but I wouldn't be opposed to his return to TT as much as I would be to Robbie's - although I can imagine Robbie returning more than I can Jason. He took what he needed from his time with the band and that's it, he's moved on.

Great news. Any idea when it is? Ideally before Xmas so it'll have a decent impact on sales
The article didn't mention a precise date. I hope it's the week(s) before Christmas, at a decent hour, when many people watch.
This is going rapidly downhill, but that's no surprise, considering Amazon has stopped selling the dvd.
