Not Giving Up TV airplay climbed from yesterday's 40 to end the week on 37. Hopefully this means it'll climb again this week.

It's not about them splitting up due to not enjoying their job any more. It's more to do with the fact they're becoming dangerously irrelevant (once Radio 1 and Capital start to ignore you then you're f***ed) and just aren't shifting albums OR singles these days. My Heart Takes Over, 30 Days and Gentleman were massive flop singles and On Your Radar/Living For The Weekend were massive flop albums. America flopped. Disco Love was a minor hit and What About Us was their only big hit in over a year (if you count their last one before that as All Fired Up, which wasn't that massive). Radio aren't touching them, their TV rotation is poor, they're being upstaged by Little Mix and there's alot of hype for Neon Jungle, they have three kids, they've been around for seven years and they all have solo interests (whether it be presenting, modelling, reality shows or writing). They're not at the beginning of their careers any more, they're now at a stage in their career where they *could* end with any album. They've got their top ten singles, their #1 single and five albums so once they've done ther Greatest Hits and upcoming tour what else have they still got to achieve? They don't seem interested in worldwide or European success and if they can't sell 25K of an album then they're never going to get a #1 album or another platinum one.

I'm not saying they WILL split. Obviously there are factors suggesting they won't (the girls get on and love their job and are still really young so need a career) but people have to accept that people aren't stupid or exaggerating when they say a split could happen any time. Their label might not want to make another album considering how badly the last one did. If a #1 single, Surprise Surprise, Stepping Out, Paul O'Grady, Strictly Come Dancing and five singles can't sell more than 25K of a studio album, would YOU want to pay for more studio and songwriter time to create yet another album?

If they split, they split. I think they'll do this Greatest Hits thing, tour, take some time out and then do one last album in 2015 and bow out gracefully.

They're not becoming dangerously irrelevant, that's silly. You could say that any girlband could split at any time?!

They're playlisted on capital, I don't know why such a huge deal is made out of radio 1. When they were playlisted, they hardly played them anyway.

They're top 40 on TV airplay, they're being featured on one of the biggest shows on Saturday night in a few weeks..

Would they be able to book that slot if they were irrelevant? I'd like to see Neon Jungle try and book that slot, even with all this 'hype' you say they've got.

They're featured on magazine covers regularly, Mollie's got her own clothing line with Oasis, Rochelle's on Sweat The Small Stuff.. all because they're part of The Saturdays.

Do you think that if Oasis thought that The Saturdays were irrelevant, they'd have signed Mollie to front that campaign?

The record label won't drop them so the only way that they would split is if they weren't getting along or if they don't want to do it anymore.

And the point I made earlier is that they are quite happy doing what they're doing. They have enough time to contribute to the band and do what they want to on the side.

They got rid of their management earlier in their careers so that they would have more control over what happens.. they're the driving force.

That's also one of the reasons that you feel like they're 'flopped'. Because they manage themselves with Peter, they don't have an amazing team behind them.

It's why they don't cost the label a lot of money because they basically do their own A&R and because of that, they don't promote as well as we'd like them to.

And also, they're really not being upstaged by Little Mix!

Their new single is sitting at #26 on iTunes and spent one week in the lower regions of the top 10 despite being a record for charity.

They're not exactly doing amazing themselves.

I agree with above, but them being playlisted on Capital isn't really meaning much. Marvin plays them on his evening show, but other than that it seems like they playlisted the song for just in case it took off, but it didn't.

He was talking about Radio 1 not playing their songs much even when they do playlist them :)

(I think)

Just listened to Leave A Light On for the first time in absolutely ages and I am so glad they never went with this as a single!
Can't believe this is out in 1 week D:
Can't believe this is out in 1 week D:
If you told me 6 weeks ago that the sunday before release the pre-order wouldn't be in the top 1,500, I would never have believed you.
Less than a week before release, I'm kind of just excited to get my hands on it, especially for only 59p! Maybe a bit premature of me to say this but might be my favourite Sats song ever :w00t: Praying for a top 10 placing!
Lets just pray the six million or so who tune into Saturday night buy this to give it some charting!
Main competition - Aloe Blacc, Sigma and The Vamps - the probable top 3. Iggy will probably be 4 or 5. John Martin might not be as big of a competitor. They might make 9 or 10 if airplay picks up for release. And the promo shows off the song prominently.
I can definitely see them charting at #9 or #10. If all of you believe this is going to miss the top 10, then it should be at #11 and nothing else really.

I predict #17 for the 17th single

and as sad as it will make me, I have no sympathy as it is bad management and (sorry girls!) but not enough work from the girls

I don't think management have been that bad. There have obviously been a few things that could have been done a little better. But their social media has done their best to create momentum, they reduced it to 59p, and have put together a decent enough promo schedule. But if the radio won't play your song, there's only so much they can do.

Even if your husband works at capital there is only so much you can do as well ;)

This.

I think the management has done well and the label has fund as much as it could considering the minimal profit the girls bring in.

It's just sad radios aren't following.

I think the promo for it could definatly be Better but at the end of the day,the radio didn't like the song much which is a big shame

What will happen if it peaks at #12?

Promo-wise the only thing they needed was a performance on a promo slot - though being featured on Ant and Dec is still really great. And I'd say visiting some radios earlier on might have helped, but is rare with a 5th single.

34 on TV rolling airplay, seems to be climbing now :), which is important at this point.

I wonder if we'll get a tour announcement, today?
