Posted February 24, 201411 yr Just a quick question & a request for information. This particular track is one which I have in my collection & the only other person who has ever come across it & has the 12" version in her collection (I have the 7" version) is my good lady wife of approximately 20 years. I have always wondered how many copies of each were sold - any one any clue how & if these numbers exist & if so what they are?
February 25, 201411 yr Hi and welcome to BuzzJack. The single only charted for one week, on the chart dated 19 February 1983, at number 98. I very much doubt the single sold even 5,000 copies in total. I don't know what proportion of its sales would have been on either 7" or 12". I remember the Eye To Eye original version of the song which dates back to 1980. It was playlisted by Radio 1 but failed to chart. The song was co-written by Julian Marshall, one half of duo Marshall Hain who had a top 10 hit in 1978 with 'Dancing In The City'. By 1980 Marshall Hain had disbanded and Marshall had formed Eye To Eye. The Virginia David version of 'Am I Normal?' was produced by Andy Hill, the songwriter and producer most famous for his work with Bucks Fizz. Edited February 25, 201411 yr by Robbie
March 7, 201411 yr Author Many thanks for the info Robbie - have heard the Eye to Eye version not a patch in my view. I hadn't realised the track had charted - not really sure whether no. 98 counts in my book. Virginia David was a member of Sailor (post Glass of Champagne & Girls, Girls, Girls) from 1980.
