I really hope this is a Pharrell collab. Sounds like it could be so good. (And gives hope that it is an uptempo after all :D)

Assuming Josepvinaixa has correct info, 'x' is a fairly predictable album title but I like it. Very Adele-esque progression as has been suggested in here already!

Can definitely hear the Pharrell influences towards the end of the clip. Wow at the falsetto, not heard him go that high before!

The rapping returns *.* It's like a much funkier Pharrell inspired You Need Me, I Don't Need You in the verses but complete with falsetto. It's a pretty cool comeback actually, and not what I expected, should be pretty big for him.

Love the rapping, the falsetto is really catchy. The shouts of 'SING' are the only bits I'm not sold on right away but otherwise I'm a fan. Could've been a lot worse from a Pharrell production.

Apparently the song is about an ex-girlfriend. And he's been dating a girl called Athina Andrelos for 6 months:

Lucky guy!

Before listening, I was expecting this to be his 'Rolling In The Deep' (!) in the sense of a huge unique-sounding crossover hit. Two listens in, I can't really tell if it has that kind of potential yet. But I really like it anyway.
I like it! Due to his singles (barring 'You Need Me...') he's sort of cemented his status as a "dreary balladeer", but this will help change that image which is what he needed to do.

I think it has that sort of vibe to it. I could see it being a UK #1 unless some big new deep house song is out that week

WATCH OUT SECOND CITY

I am not sure about the first verse, it seems a little frantic. I do like it though, it has a slight JT vibe to it and I really love his rap.

It should be a definite contender for #1 depending when it is released. I think the perfect release date would be around 3 weeks time after Kiesza, Mr. Probz. and Calvin have been released, leaving a week between all of them being released and Rita Ora trying for #1. Would be the best opportunity.

Ed 'liked' my comment about the song on Facebook...! I never thought artists looked at those comments

Are you sure it wasn't someone running the social media account?

Someone from my school's cousin is Ed Sheeran.

Unless getting to #1 is absolutely top of the agenda for his label, I really don't think it matters which week it's released as I can see it being a very consistent seller. I think it makes sense to release it as soon as possible TBH as he's a big enough name and has enough hype (and it's a good enough song) to not be hindered by an OA/OS-type release. If it was up to me I'd take a leaf out of steve201's book and put it on iTunes tonight (well preferably yesterday morning but ya'know) :P.

He's confirmed it's him as loads of girls are getting giddy as he's been replying to a few people with questions about the EP/tour etc...I guess he just wanted some ground level instant reaction to the single, good on him!

I quite like it. You can definitely hear the Pharrell influences in there.
Hmm, too much of a Pharrell ripoff for me. But I'll give it time, I felt like this about Move when I first heard it.
