It's cool indeed.

It is so awesome. So tacky and anthemic! Her vocals are just so wild on it. And Xenomania's production is just so hot. I love it when she freaks out towards the end "your such a silly woman put the lime in the coconut!"

I remember when I played it to you dannyboy for the first time and you hated it, that quickly changed though! lol It was dannii in your house everyday

Then u def should by the hits and beyond to get into how great overall she is.

I find some of dannii's early stuff hard to digest. Even for the early 90's it seems a bit..."odd". Tracks like "loves on every corner" leave a bad taste in my mouth. Dannii became "great" for me at the time of "Girl". That's when she seemed confident in her sound. Her first 2 albums, (though I like) sound like Paula Abdul/Janet Jackson tracks that they rejected. She got caught up in the early 90's american rnb sound that was circuling. Will Smith in the fresh prince days style/Vanilla Ice. Its most obvious with hideous tracks like "Party Jam" from her first album where she actually rapps. But I love songs like "success" and "love & kisses", "This is it" - those are the tracks that "saved" her early work I think

I often wonder though if "coconut" would have saved the "Girl" album? If it was a hit in the UK and could have led to a "Girl" re-issue? You know what I meen? Many artists albums inicially flop then they have that one breakthrough song and re-release the album to more success. For example: Rachel Stevens "Funky Dory" album got re-release after "Some Girls" hit it big. Shakira's "oral fixation vol 2" got re-released after the monster success of "hips don't lie". Now obviously, I am not compareing Dannii to these artists. But could "coconut" have "broke through" and saved the album? Though I don't think "coconut" was the best single choice for "Girl" I think it would have went down well commerically. Thoughts anyone?

I don't think 'Coconut' would have done well in the UK, might have scraped the top 40 at best. Which is a shame as it's great!

'Love And Kisses' is sickening, though I do love 'This Is The Way' from her early work.

everybody (including myself) seems to forget about "This is the way". Its such an awesome song! Love the video to. I think she released the "get into you" singles in a really sloppy order which limited the success of it. Lead single should have been "this is it" followed by "this is the way". She released some dire singles on that album I think.

Is it just me that thinks "perfection" sounds a bit like "this is the way"?

I can't see the resemblance between 'This Is The Way' and 'Perfection' myself.

'This Is The Way' is really underrated, I'd have liked it to be included on THAB. The video is excellent, and the extended mix of it is divine. Really deserved to do a lot better. :banghead:

"This is the way" was the fourth single of a flop album. The album was launched with such a lame song. "show you the way to go" followed by "loves on every corner" - That's two turkeys in a row followed by a album. The album didn't stand a chane of success with these 2 songs as the lead singles! If she launched the album with "this is it" and "this is the way" I am adomant the album would have done better. Not to make excuses but I always believe there are factors into dannii's failures 90% of the time that have nothing to do with the music itself. Imagine if Kylie released "Can't get you out of my head" as the third or fourth single from "fever" rather than it being the lead single? Its so important to release the right singles in the right order.

"this is the way" sounds a bit simmilar to "perfection" I think. I can't put my finger on it but it kind of does. They sound like they could be from the same recording session. Only they're obviously not. Years apart
