Lady Gaga provides extra

excitement for Hearst Castle

visitors

Visitors to Hearst Castle today got to see

more than the historic art and

architecture. They got to see rehearsals

and taping for the big Lady Gaga

production happening there this week.

Today, Lady Gaga, dancers,

synchronized swimmers, and production

crew were shooting at the iconic Neptune

Pool. All the theatrics are part of a music

video Lady Gaga is shooting at the castle.

It's the first commercial production shot

there since the movie Spartacus more

than 50 years ago. Lady Gaga has made a

$250-thousand dollar donation to the

castle's preservation foundation. She's also

doing a series of public service videos for

the castle and donating to the Cambria

Community Services District to help with

water exploration studies.

She's also taken the time to pose for

pictures with kids who spotted her while

on tours with their parents, and waved to

fans who were trying to spot her during

their pass by the Neptune Pool today.

Folks with the castle say having her

shoot there exposes the castle and it's art

to millions of new people world wide.

Today was the only day the general public

could get close to the production

Can we finally accept that this is for at least two songs now! "G.U.Y." and "Venus" are practically confirmed. I wouldn't be surprised if we had a third song as well to make an 'ARTPOP trilogy'.

Governor Brown sends a thank-you

note to Lady Gaga

Before Lady Gaga even wrapped her

shoots at Hearst Castle, she got a letter of

thanks from Governor Jerry Brown today.

"I want to personally thank you for the

aide and assistance you are providing to

Hearst Castle, the communities

surrounding San Simeon and the state as

a whole." said the governor in the letter

delivered to the superstar today.

He seemed especially pleased with her

donation to the local community services

district to look for new ways of supplying

water to the drought-stricken community

of Cambria, and for her commitment to

do public service productions on the

water woes the state is facing. "The state

is experiencing an historic drought which

threatens our farms, our communities

and increases fire danger in both urban

and rural areas. I've called on all

Californians to conserve water in every

way possible and the assistance you are

providing will aide in that effort."

The letter goes on to wish her a

memorable time while visiting the Central

Coast.

Lady Gaga was shooting today at the

iconic Neptune Pool which will soon be

emptied so the water in it can be used for

irrigation purposes around the castle

property, and so the state can come up

with a repair plan for it as it is currently

leaking water. Just last week it was down

about 5 inches from capacity. Water is

being pumped to a lower reservoir on the

property for storage.

State representatives say Lady Gaga paid

for water to be pumped from the

reservoir so the pool would be full for her

video shoot. Starting tomorrow crews will

begin the process of pumping that water,

and the remainder still in the pool to that

reservoir.

Lady Gaga wraps up shoot at

Hearst Castle

After three days of rehearsals, staging

and shooting, Lady Gaga and her dancers,

choreographers and staff are wrapping

things up at Hearst Castle. By tomorrow,

things should be back to normal at the

Enchanted Hill.

Lady Gaga has been shooting a music

video and a couple of other projects at the

castle since Tuesday. It has been an

amazing coordination effort considering

they were not able to have much time to

rehearse on site as the crew just arrived

Tuesday. They managed to shoot at four

different locations at the castle working

nearly round the clock even as public

tours continued in and around all the

activity.

Dancers, synchronized swimmers, the

Desperate Housewives of Beverly Hills

(they play a role in the production) and

lots of costumes had to be coordinated for

the multi-million dollar project. Lady Gaga

and her family donated $250-thousand

dollars to the Hearst Castle Preservation

Foundation, as well as paid tens of

thousands in fees, state costs, and

donations to local agencies.
