BILLBOARD: ''Frozen' vs. 5 Seconds of Summer for No. 1 on Billboard 200

Billboard (April 02, 2014):

"Australian pop/rock band 5 Seconds of Summer is eyeing the top of the Billboard 200 chart, as its new EP is on course for a handsome debut. The four-song set, "She Looks So Perfect," was released on April 1 and may sell upwards of 140,000 to 160,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, April 6 (according to industry forecasters).

Standing in 5 Seconds of Summer's way could be the soundtrack to "Frozen." The Walt Disney Records album is in the running for a ninth week at No. 1.

Other albums heading for sizable debuts next week include Christina Perri's "Head or Heart" (40,000 to 45,000) and Chevelle's "La Gargola" (40,000 or so)."

The 5SOS sales are just stupid. One Direction had a massive hit and their full album could only sell 176k. Admittedly that had been out in the UK for ages beforehand but still, the 5SOS sales are absolutely baffling. No idea where the hype appeared from.
I didn't realise short EP's qualified for the album chart in the US, strange as it's only like an old CD single with a few b-sides!
If they're UK chart performance is anything to go by, 5SOS's sales will likely drop offer towards the end of the week and Frozen will definitely claim another week at #1.

They supported 1D on tour in America.

Amazing sales for 5SOS, the only thing about it I find weird is how it's going towards the album chart  Oh well, really hope it can get #1 but I think Frozen will make it again.

Supporting 1D on tour turning into 150k first week sales seems a bit of a stretch

I think they have the same management.

I am amazed at an EP selling this much.

Imagine if the sales counted towards the Hot 100 instead?? (wish they did)
