I remember People would go around starting "go go go" and others would immediately pick up and continue "ale ale ale". So my vote goes for Ricky and rickys song was actually the first world cup song that was a non-power ballad which broke the usual tradition and it was the first EVER world cup song i ever knew.

 

I remember kids who didn't even know english or spanish went around and sang Go Go Go Ale Ale Ale....now thats an amazing IMPACT.

Everyone knows Waka Waka and it didn't even reach top 20. Still good at parties nowadays!

Waka Waka was just a tune

Wow at "Waka Waka" winning i guees some of yall were to young to exsperience the hype & success of "The Cup Of Life" and how is was "OVERPLAYED TO DEATH" in the summer of 1998. Oh well its all good anyway.

Nothing against 'Waka Waka' but 'The Cup Of Life' has the edge! The instrumentation is fantastic and the song is not as repetitive.
