The song has nothing going for it at all.

I think their time has been and gone. Was also very disappointed to see Judy re-released. Why not 'School Uniform' or even their call to arms 'We are the Pipettes'?

 

Great song, but meh...summers leaving and we need to get morose again.

'Pull Shapes' was the strongest single they had imo and if that did badly.

 

Do love this song though and a great video :wub:

'Judy' just kinda goes on, there's no catchy chorus and nothing to grab you here like with their previosu releases, most fans will have the album already and this won't attract any new fans -_-

 

'Because Its Not Love (But Its Still A Feeling)' or 'We Are The Pipettes' should have been single #4 -_-

'Judy' is one of my faves on the album - not sure about it as a single though. I think 'ABC' or a re-release of 'Dirty mind' is whats needed now.

 

The videos good... but completely rips off Charlotte Hatherley's 'bast*rdo'

How did it do badly? :blink: What some of you need to realise is that they're on a VERY small label and they're lucky to even be selling anything so they don't 'badly need their album to pick up' and Pull Shapes didn't do badly but I do believe even though this isn't as good as the album version that it should do ok as Radio 2 are backing it. :D

Hmm...Dirty Mind is my fave track after Pull Shapes-I would have loved a re-release of that...Judy is good but not as good as previous singles and I agree that the video is similar to Charlotte Hatherley's bast*rdo

But they do need it to do better. Pull Shapes reached the top 20 of the airplay chart so it's not as if it didn't have exposure. They need to release their best songs to get a chance of becoming successful. They need to promote it. Was there any promo for Pull Shapes? Minimal at best. This won't do as well as Pull Shapes and may struggle to do better than Your Kisses. I can't see it helping the album much at all to be honest.

 

After this I think they need to either release Dirty Mind in January or try and do the "christmas ballad" and release A Winter's Sky in December. Either that or start a new album as as much as I love them, I can't see them becoming any bigger than they are...

I agree with you Mark, considering 'Pull Shapes' did so well on radio the size of the label shouldn't be to blame. They've had exposure. I think they need to stop behaving like an indie band and push to the mainstream and start promoting. I really have no clue as to why 'Judy' has been re-released awful choice -_-

 

Tbh as painful as it sounds I think the girls should split from MI and look for a proper record deal on a bigger label as they have the talent to do well. That or Mephis sort themselves out and push (what I presume are their biggest act) for better things...

I personally think they missed some great songs from the album (The Pips this is) such as 'School Uniform' some of the songs on the album are just plain c**p - and I honestly do think 'Pull Shapes' was their only song that ever stood a chance of being a huge hit.

I like the video, I think it's based on Lichtenstein or well it reminded me of that and Charlotte Hatherley.

 

The song is good, not sure how well it will do though considering the catchy Pull Shapes got top 30 maybe it'll do that.

Considering this was probably my fave song on the album, I really can't get into it as a single. I really don't know why! :o
