4 this week ! 1-2-4 is a pretty solid chart run ! Better than 'Promise this' (1-2-7) and 'Call my name' (1-2-5) ! :o

And 'Fight for this love' actually had the same chart run… with an extra week at the top (1-1-2-4) :kink:

Would 'Something New' have been able to overtake Olly with streaming? Or was his sales/streaming so far ahead it was always going to be a lost cause?

Olly sold almost 50k more copies than Girls Aloud and everything about those two releases would indicate Olly wiping the floor with them on streaming. It wouldn't have helped them.

Yep, aside from sales, Olly was also ahead of them on streaming!

Not even sure if those streaming positions would have helped them avoid the embarrassing/dramatic falls in the chart by much more than a position or two at best. SN's Top 40 run being 2-14-30-out is so " :(".

The song is doing far better than I expected on airplay ! Still #1 on TV and it gets a new peak at #4 on radio ! :cheer:

Will probably tumble now with Radio 1 dropping the song, but still a great achievement.

She could drop anywhere between 5 and 9 this week, battling with Ella Henderson, George Ezra, Rizzle Kicks and ZHU.

Rizzle Kicks' streaming won't count for much so they won't be a problem, could see Ella and George Ezra overtaking maybe, pushing her down to #7 with Kiesza factored in also? 1-2-4-7 wouldn't be a bad run at all.

The only disappointing thing is the sales. In a more competitive climate its run would be more like 1-4-8.

That's not necessary true. "Sales climate" impact everybody, not just Cheryl. During the summer sales tend to plummet, probably because people rather spend their time outside or go on holiday. Actually it's hurting the new songs more than the old ones, because it's a time of a year when people are not as much in touch with what's new and there's literally no music show and stuff.
