May 9, 201411 yr Author It isn't the best position possible. That would be before the commercial break (between 11th/12th IIRC?) - ultimately, 13th in 26 songs isn't THAT good of a position. And 7th has a far stronger record. The commercial break is after the 12th song I believe. But the fact that it looks so obvious to me is that Christer has apparently said (according to this article) that he already believed Sweden would be given 13th place. Therefore the fact that they have got exactly what Christer said they would get looks bad to me.

Therefore the fact that they have got exactly what Christer said they would get looks bad to me. If it's after the 12th song then that's even worse for Sweden - going after a commercial break is worse than going before, because you won't necessarily have all viewers back yet. And he said he believed Sanna'd get thirteenth as it takes a while to set up the lights - so I presume it logistically had to go there.
May 9, 201411 yr Author But they had no trouble setting up the lights in time in the semi-final (except in one of the rehearsals admittedly :kink:) in the time they had after Estonia's performance so that's why his statement doesn't make total sense to me.
May 9, 201411 yr I don't know why he'd actively want to pick a slot after a commercial break, unless he was under the mistaken illusion that later always without fail = better. Then again, most people in here seem to be under that illusion too, so it's not outside the boundaries of belief...
May 10, 201411 yr Here's the voting order for tonight's final with each country's spokespersons. Azerbaijan: (Sabina Babayeva) Greece: (Andrianna Maggania) Poland : (Pauliana Chylewska) Albania: (Andri Xhahu) San Marino: ( Michele Perniola) Denmark: (Sofie Lassen-Kahlke) Montenegro: (Tijana Miskovic) Romania: (Sonia Argint Ionescu) Russia: (Alsou) Netherlands: (Tim Douwsma) Malta: (Valentina Rossi) France: (Elodie Suigo) United Kingdom (Scott Mills) Latvia: (Ralfs Eilands) Armenia: (Anna Avanesyan) Iceland: (Benedikt Valsson) F.Y.R. Macedonia (Marko Mark) Sweden: (Alcazar) Belarus: (Alyona Lanskaya) Germany: (Helene Fischer) Israel: (Ofer Nachshon) Portugal: (Joana Teles) Norway: (Margrethe Røed) Estonia: (Lauri Pihlap) Hungary: (Éva Novodomszky) Moldova: (Olivia Furtuna) Ireland: (Nicky Byrne) Finland: (Redrama) Lithuania: (Ignas Krupavicius) Austria: (Kati Bellowitsch) Spain: (Carolina Casado) Belgium: (Angelique Vlieghe) Italy: (Linus) Ukraine: (Zlata Ognevich) Switzerland: (Kurt Aeschbacher) Georgia: (Nodi Tatishvili and Sophi Gelovani) Slovenia: (Ula Furlan) I'd say Hungary could be the winner from those last few countries!
May 10, 201411 yr Can we not have scott mills next yet? Bet he wears that horrid shiny grey suit again.
May 10, 201411 yr Switzerland, Belgium and Austria are all top 5 in "Most points received" for the UK!!1 (I'll stop looking this up and over-analysing now)
May 10, 201411 yr ^ I do hope that countries that don't usually give us top points do this years - it feels so weird to expect them to do it like it is something impossible that'll never happen.
May 10, 201411 yr With that voting order it seems like they're trying to create excitement and it'll end with a 2 horse race between the UK and The Netherlands in the final votes
May 10, 201411 yr Actually I think they are anticipating an Austria win. In the last five voters there are three neighbours of Austria.

And he said he believed Sanna'd get thirteenth as it takes a while to set up the lights - so I presume it logistically had to go there. It all went fine without any breaks in the semifinal plus I was at the arena yesterday and there was not any issue... well apart from an issue however with getting rid of basims props and going into Netherlands. Just sayin'
May 10, 201411 yr Author I remember last year we had a group of the former Yugoslavian countries right at the end of the voting which allowed us to attempt to draw some conclusions (although I think we thought they'd favour Ukraine over Denmark), but this year there doesn't seem to be such a clear group of countries. The end of the order definitely seems to be full of more "western" countries which could indicate a strong finish and jury performance for Austria and The Netherlands. I would possibly rule out Sanna winning the jury vote from that order though as the Scandinavian and Nordic countries aren't particularly towards the end who you'd expect to give Sanna the highest points.
May 10, 201411 yr Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the first 2 or 3 years of "Britain's Got Talent" show, the winner was also the last performance in the Finals. So the UK being on last... I admit I haven't heard any of the songs, but I'm not gonna hold my breath about the UK winning. I'm kinda rooting for the Austrian entry, even tho I haven't heard the song yet, lol. Well, me already judging a song I haven't heard, based solely on visuals! Am I typical?
