Posted May 9, 201411 yr 'Now 50' Eyeing Top of Billboard 200 Chart Billboard (May 7th 2014): "The latest "Now That's What I Call Music!" compilation may bring an end to the "Frozen" soundtrack's reign at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources forecast "Now 50" to sell more than 120,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, May 11. Its sales could be further amplified by gift-giving shopping related to the Mother's Day holiday, which occurs on Sunday. Following "Now 50," the next highest debut will come from Hunter Hayes' second album, "Storyline," which may sell 75,000. The country singer's album could earn the No. 3 slot behind "Now 50" and "Frozen" (so long as "Frozen" doesn't completely tumble in sales, which seems unlikely)." http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/...board-200-chart

May 10, 201411 yr Author Hunter Hayes' 'Storyline' Heading for Top Three on Billboard 200 Chart Billboard (May 9th 2014): "Twenty-two-year-old Hunter Hayes is aiming for his highest charting album yet on the Billboard 200, as his sophomore set, "Storyline," could debut at No. 3 next week. Industry sources forecast the album, which was released on May 6, may sell between 70,000 and 75,000 copies in the week ending May 11. Standing in the way of “Storyline" on the Billboard 200 may be the new "Now 50" compilation at No. 1 and the soundtrack to Disney's "Frozen" at No. 2. Sources forecast the former to sell over 130,000, while "Frozen" may shift another 100,000 or so. Also on course for significant debuts next week are Sarah McLachlan's "Shine On”, the Tech N9ne Collabos set "Strangeulation”, Atmosphere's "Southsiders" and Lily Allen's "Sheezus”. McLachlan may sell around 35,000, while the Tech N9ne set could move 25,000 or so. Atmosphere and Allen are aiming for a bow of around 20,000." http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/...n-billboard-200

May 10, 201411 yr Well that's about 30k off what I was expecting, my predictions remain horrific. But they're really disappointing sales for her, and the worse thing is that with sales so low and gaps so small between albums, she'll have a mighty fall next week.
May 11, 201411 yr Author Well that's about 30k off what I was expecting, my predictions remain horrific. Given the climate, it's not that bad.
May 11, 201411 yr Hunter looking to have the highest artist album :cheer: Fantastic news, such an amazing album. Hopefully Sheezus will keep top 10 also, both that and Storyline are in my top 5 albums of the year.
May 11, 201411 yr It's a pity Hunter isn't looking to get the #1, though I'm a tad surprised he's opening that low! Country albums tend not to be frontloaded though so I'm sure he'll hang around.
May 11, 201411 yr I thought he could get #1 too, and certainly expected more than 75K first week, but 'Invisible' has struggled with airplay so I think that has had an effect. But he should get decent enough radio support with future singles to keep the album afloat for the next year or so!
May 11, 201411 yr Yeah I also expected a bit more for Hunter but seeing how low his first album opened (and that it "only" peaked at #7 also) re-assured me a bit. Invisible hasn't done quite as well as it really *should* have either, but I'm sure he'll milk it for a while yet (there are enough potential singles to do so, very strong album).
May 12, 201411 yr Wow, I didn't even expect Lily to go top30, has there been any promotion over there?
