June 1, 201411 yr Author Lambert is such a poor purchase. Not going to be a first XI player. But it helps build our quota, and he will happily sit on the bench. For a few million I don't think we can go wrong really. He'll obviously get chances, but we need another player to bring on if things aren't going our way. I expect he will be an astute signing. Definitely a short term-signing, but this is the type of signing Manchester United used to make in their prime all the time.
June 2, 201411 yr Lambert is a no brainer really. Boyhood fan, who is willing to be 3rd/4th choice, low wages/transfer fee and it helps that he's scored his fair share of goals in recent years. He's essentially an upgrade on Aspas, who contributed very little last season
June 12, 201411 yr Author Fabregas signed for Chelsea. They're going to have some team on paper next season, but still not utterly convinced about them. Honestly see no logic in swapping Fabregas for Mata. Going to assume this was an Roman signing, and not a Jose one...
June 12, 201411 yr I've learnt not to judge a team 'on paper' after last summer Most fans seemed to be fawning over Tottenham's squad
June 13, 201411 yr Fabregas and Matic together is a solid midfield though. Apparently looking to swap Modric for Ramires as well.
June 13, 201411 yr Author Good signing for them. Man City and Chelsea are going to have a lot of strength in depth next season.
June 13, 201411 yr Fabregas and Matic together is a solid midfield though. Apparently looking to swap Modric for Ramires as well. I'm in two sets of minds here. I highly rate Ramires but I assume the purchase of fabregas puts him further down the pecking order. Modric would be a terrific purchase. I would happily accept a new defender now. Costa and Fabregas are brilliant purchases.

I would happily accept a new defender now. Costa and Fabregas are brilliant purchases. Where are you going to play everyone though? That would be my major worry. If you play 4-2-3-1, a pivot of Matic and Fabregas is not as good as it sounds on paper. Mourinho might change to 4-3-3, but like I said previously, I fully expect Fabregas to be a Roman signing. I just feel sorry for all these good players you have out on loan, and of course the desire to just sell Lukaku. If you sign Modric (which I can't see happening, unless Real Madrid really want Suarez) then it's curtains for Oscar imo.
June 21, 201411 yr Premier League Purchases Joleon Lescott [Manchester City - West Brom] Chris Kettings [blackpool - Crystal Palace] Cheikhou Kouyate [Anderlecht - West Ham] Costel Pantilimon [Manchester City - Sunderland] I never actually realised Pantilimon joined Sunderland - could be an absolute bargain of a purchase. I'm fully expecting him to be the automatic number one. Lescott joining West Brom is a good piece of business. It provides West Brom with experience at the back and I think Lescott is still a good defender.

June 21, 201411 yr Author Love to know what sort of wages Lescott is on. I think he can still do a job, but he must surely be on a massive contract? Chris Kettings to Palace. Wow, Pulis must see something in him, cos he was awful when we had him on loan!
June 21, 201411 yr Author Valencia getting a new 3 year deal, with the option of another year.. serious LOL moment. A sign of things to come...
June 21, 201411 yr Surely it couldn't have been the managers decision? I'm sure he's only seen Valencia train - not enough to judge if he's good enough! Funny though.
June 25, 201411 yr Burnley have made an undisclosed bid for Derby's Craig Bryson who was our (I'm a Derby supporter) player of the year last season. It has been "immediately rejected" but I have a feeling we may struggle to hold onto him unless we can get his contract renegotiated. We are also still trying to buy George Thorne from West Brom who was outstanding in his loan spell with us for the second half of last season and George has since handed in a transfer request to West Brom which was rejected. I do hope we can get him though!
June 27, 201411 yr I'm quite happy with United signings of Ander Herrera & Luke Shaw. Now we need CB's. Edited June 27, 201411 yr by RobinJuanPersie
June 27, 201411 yr Both good signings, Shaw fee not as huge as some were suggesting. They could do with a long term replacement for Carrick (William Carvalho?) and at least one more defender now.
June 27, 201411 yr Author Herrera and Shaw will be good signings. Just really think Man Utd will be vulnerable in defence next year, they really need to sign an experienced centre back, even if it's just a stop gap. Going to be a lot of pressure on Herrera though, that's for sure. Lallana having a medical at Liverpool. Delighted if that finally happens.
June 27, 201411 yr Author Judging by all the noise and rumours coming out of Liverpool this evening, I think it's safe to say Suarez is off to La Liga.
