Frankie slayed Una's part also.

 

For me it isn't always that Frankie gets the best parts it's that she makes them the best for me at least. Her tone is just so amazing, happily listen to a whole album of just her whereas I think I'd struggle to enjoy the 4 other girls.

Frankie's tone is amazing; I mean her solos in the Juniors/8 singles/album tracks are amazing.

Sorry but Vanessa easily has the best tone - her voice is so soulful! Frankie ain't got nothing on her!

I think they each have a very interresting tone and I couldn't imagine them differently. :wub: However, I do have some preferences and stuff... :kink:

 

My main issue with Vanessa (bar the obvious vocal issues) is the fact that she sounds way too bored on most tracks, both live and in studio. I mean, live, I get it, but she really needs to try to sound excited about it in studio (unless it's a ballad :lol:). I think my favorite tone of hers is her "no no!" ad-libs on the last chorus of Not That Kinda Girl. It kind of reminds me just a little of Amy Winehouse, which follows what April said about her soulful tone.

 

Mollie can be too nasal, but I love her sweet tone (Not Giving Up, Here Standing, all that). I love when she goes for it though. She definitely has more pipes than we thought. I love her falsetto the most which is ironic considering she's not their soprano.

 

Frankie can be WAY too whiny especially when she tries to belt. My favorite tone of hers would either be the sultry lower one ala 'Wildfire' (get me started hot like fire) or when she does really high pitched harmonies (think Somebody Else's Life).

 

Rochelle is also a case of either going to nasal (or shouty), although she's generally the one that captures their uptempos' spirit the most. She truly sounds excited/or whatever the mood on them. However, on ballads, I usually think she tries too much to emote (she kinda reminds me of Little Mix in that matter) which actually takes away the emotions. I loved how sultry she sounded on "Set Me Off", I wish we would get something like that from her again.

 

Una's tone was way more interresting back then when it was really husky and deep. Now she's plays too much with her feline register (which is hot and cold with me) or just sounds like a huskier version of Mollie, without the sweetness the latter has to her voice. I've been watching videos from the Chasing Lights era and it's really just so different to what she sounds like nowadays. Still, you've gotta love the feline register for the iconic "on your rada-OOOOOHHHH". :wub: :lol:

Exactly this !! I took a long break from The Saturdays after the horrible Higher*it's a fairytale* and Missing You indecent, but after my break I took a quick look at the Riri medley and I was truly in shock! I didn't understand what I was hearing, Una deffo lost something she had back in the days. I also have to say that Rochelle used to have a warmer tone in their Chasing Lights/Wordshaker era.

They need to get the pre-order up before the radio premiere if possible! Exciting though :D
