we all know that Celine is great, but do you think that the way she is portrayed by the media totally positive?

 

I know in the UK (not sure about other places) it's considered to be quite embarrassing to admit to liking Celine, and people normally also, people make fun of her songs, and call her a one trick pony for making many ballads.

 

As fans, what do you think of the general publics view of celine like this, or does it even matter to you what people think, as long as she keeps making great music?

To be honest, I actually think the way she's portrayed in the media is negative, quite negative at some points.. I was bothered by it in the past and sometimes I still am (if it's extreme), but I've come to a point where I said to myself: does it actually matter what they think of her? Well the answer was quite simple: no. As long as I like her myself and enjoy her music, thát's the important thing. Ok, what others think of her is important too sometimes and of course I'm doing my best to promote her, but for each their own. :)

 

I believe Celine is quite an underdog in the music bizz, not many people admit loving her music or admit being a fan of her [in public], a lot are "closet fans". Especially now that she's out of the picture. But when she's having a new album out (and is able to promote it personally) and/or is doing another tour, I'm dead certain it will be big, it will be huge..:)

 

I agree with CSC. For some reason people are embarassed to admit they like Celine's music. I think it's stupid and there's no reason for it. She's one of the greatest female voices ever and I can only have a lot of respect for her. She's been in the business for 25 years and she's done it all and she's only 38 years old. She always remained the same person. She has a big heart, is sincere and generous.

She's in a league of her own and doesn't have to prove herself anymore these days. But I am sure, like CSC said, if she comes out with a new album and comes over in person to promote it properly and maybe do a tour again she will gain some new fans. It's hard to to love her after all :lol:

its alot harder for a guy to say they like her,as the whole gay stigma comes into action but is daft but it happens,but i think girls will freely admitthye like some of he rstuff,in general though i think celine is seen as a very down to earth and warm scelebrity which is good

Yeah for some reason the media do paint her and other similar artists as uncool.

some of my friends laugh at me because Celine is my fave artist of all time, but i dont really care i know shes better than most trash thats out these days, but ye i dont think she is portrayed that well i think people are embarrsed to admit if they like her.
