Let's make some predictions!

Winners: Argentina

Dark horses: France

Just get the feeling Argentina will finally come good, and win the World Cup again. Can see Spain crashing out early.

Personally think it's a toss up between Germnay, Brazil and Argentina.. I'd like to see Argentina win

I'm also on Argentina, they've got a decent path to the quarters and have the best attack in the world.

I could see Spain and Brazil playing each other in the second round, but I can't see Holland finishing above them, Chile might.

Tournament flops: Holland, Ivory Coast, Uruguay

Dark Horses: Chile, France, maybe even England?

I've predicted a Brazil victory and if I were to choose a country to outperform their odds, I'd go for Bosnia & Herzegovina (currently 200/1) as they are in arguably one of the weaker group (Iran, Nigeria and then Argentina) and could possibly sneak through one of the knock-out rounds (they would most likely play the winner of France's group, and if France aren't in form again then it might not be them who win their group...) which would be a big achievement for what I believe is their first World Cup or European Championship as an independent nation.

Winners: Argentina

Their attack will peak at the right time.

Dark Horse: Chile

Flop: Holland, Italy

So many people say Argentina will win it but I think Brazil will win it instead so I voted for them.

Winner: Brazil

Dark Horse: Belgium

Flop: England, Holland, France

For France to flop would be quite impressive given their group and the expectations from back home.

I'm saying Brazil. I'd expect the winner of their semi (either them or Spain) to beat either Argentina or Germany. The former don't have the strength in depth and I'm still not convinced about Low's tactics in big games.

Dark horses: France, Italy (do they count?), Nigeria

Flops: Uruguay, Chile (mainly because of their group, they could well get past the Dutch actually), Mexico

Predictions:

Brazil win

I reckon Brazil will get a home victory and I agree that Spain's stranglehold will probably end quite spectacularly.

Belgium and Portugal for the semi-finals if they don't meet each other or Brazil before then. Argentina to do rather well.

England, sadly, will probably be on the "Scotland" plane home i.e. after the groups.

Based on my extremely low knowlede of Football, I'm going to guess for the hell of it

Winner: Argentina

Runner-Up: Brazil

Dark Horse: Belgium/Columbia

Flops: England, Netherlands

I really don't know much about where this is going, but from what I do know I can't really see past a Brazil victory. Brazil vs Argentina final though. Would love to see Spain register an almighty fall from grace after recently but I can't really see them going out before the quarters. Dark horses could really come from near anywhere (unless you're Australia or Costa Rica) so hopefully we'll get a good few of those.

I don't really think Belgium can be classed as dark horses, their current generation is akin to England in 2006. Lots of good players, all peaking around the same time. They're expected to do well, and their path to the quarter finals isn't that difficult on paper. I really think Russia might upset them mind.

Good thing about this year is there's no team that stands out. All of the tournament favourites (Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany) all have massive weaknesses!

Belgium are overrated in my opinion. They'll get out of the group with ease, but I wouldn't expect them to get anywhere near winning it as some are suggesting

Greece will win. Either that or a South American team.

European teams, including last year champs Spain, will all flop. Holland then maybe Portugal will do the best out of all these flops though.

Given that they're 5th favourite they absolutely cannot be regarded as dark horses. They're expected to get to at leas the last 8, especially given their group, though I can easily see them losing to the 2nd place of Germany/Portugal/Ghana.

You're right about the favourites though. The top 4 do seem to be quite far ahead of the rest but they all seem to have their weak points. Brazil have the least amount of flaws but most of their attacking players have come off the back of disappointing seasons; Paulinho, Oscar, Fred, even Neymar to some extent.

Argentina are weak in goal and the left half of their defence.

Spain aren't as good as they have been and you sense they might lack up front.

And in many ways Germany are as weak as they've been for a while, one striker worth taking, a lack of a real quality defence, and key midfielders either injured or not fit.

Brazil vs Chile

Spain vs Croatia

Colombia vs Italy

England vs Japan

France vs Bosnia

Argentina vs Ecuador

Germany vs South Korea

Belgium vs Portugal

Brazil vs Colombia

Span vs England

France vs Germany

Argentina vs Portugal

Brazil vs France

Spain vs Argentina

Argentina beat Brazil

I predict Brazil to win, Runner Up: Belgium

I think England will get through to the second round and get knocked out. I don't think Uruguay are at that best.

If England get out of the group then I see them making the quarters. Brazil-Argentina final.
