Thought she would be TOTD. Was just thinking does anyone else think the TOTD feature re placed the record of the week so there would be even less variety on radio 1?

Yes, they definitely did something for the specific purpose of playing a lesser variety of music.

How is Track of the Day any less variety than Record of the Week anyway? With RotW you have all the daytime DJs (Nick, Fearne, Scott + Greg) picking one song that they play every day of the week. TotD you have one track picked per day that all the daytime DJs play.

Erm sorry didn't mean to offend lol I was just thinking out loud about the concept of TOTD. I was thinking along the lines of records of the week are played 5 times a week and each dj has a different one so that's 4 djs with 4 songs * 5 days!

IS THE ACTUAL TRACK OF THE DAY TODAY!!

Hozier up to 57 on my feed because of TOTD - Would easily be a top 20 hit with radio 1 playlisting even with a lack of a held back status!!

I love this TOTD for Monday, Cannot get enough of Hozier, Also why has the website put Sigma as TOTD? Was a bit confused :lol:

Maybe it was last Mondays TOTD? I think it was - it's on the main playlist now anyway.

 

Hozier is amazing it was No1 in Ireland ages ago - it's on the verge of the top 40 after today but should fall away as the week goes on. I'm sure it'll be playlisted this coming week. :)

Just checked there - yip Sigma was last Monday!
