Posted June 20, 201411 yr I thought I'd make a topic about this considering the campaign should be starting in a few months possibly. Also, new information on the album has surfaced online recently: "I don’t sit down and think, ‘I’m going to write a song’, Inspiration hits me always unexpectedly: on a plane, when I’m out or just before I go to bed. An idea will suddenly come to my mind, and sometimes I manage to turn it into lyrics the next day. Sometimes it’ll take me one year to get something real out of it. You can’t force creativeness." Among the producers who are confirmed for this third album, are Mark Ronson and Jeff Bhasker, who had worked with him and produced songs like ‘Moonshine‘, included in his second album. It follows up 2012's Unorthodox Jukebox - which I thought was a step down from his debut - but I hope there's another song in the same league as 'Locked Out of Heaven' (one of my favourite tracks of 2012). Hopefully he has more ballads in store for this album but they need to be far less cheesy.
June 20, 201411 yr even tho i'm not a huge Bruno fan, i'm hoping he can pull another fab single out of the hat this time around (like Locked Out of Heaven & Treasure <33)
June 21, 201411 yr I thought he was much more bearable last time around... ('When I Was Your Man' aside of course...) Edited June 21, 201411 yr by mr_aly
June 21, 201411 yr I think people's interest in Bruno Mars is fading very quickly. "Gorilla" didn't even make the T40 and I'm sure they tried "Young Girls" as a single too, and that did bugger all. Shame as "Locked Out of Heaven" is easily his best track to date, still sounds great; and "When I Was Your Man" was a relatively big hit. I'm interested to see how the lead single to album #3 sounds regardless.
June 22, 201411 yr Author I think they both failed to do anything because they were not at all good. Gorilla in particular is pretty horrendous actually. Bruno needs to release a consistent album this time. Yes a great lead single is compulsory but the follow ups are just as important. He's clearly got a good ear for knowing what's a hit (LOOH, JTWYA) so I'm sure he'll do well this time around. I actually predict the next era will be bigger than the UJ one.
June 22, 201411 yr ... but the second and third single both did really well too. The next two singles were just bad choices when he had 'Moonshine'.
June 22, 201411 yr 'Moonshine' was released here in The Netherlands but it still flopped. I really like it though. I actually liked all the singles from this album while from his first album I didn't like any of the songs. He really grew and I hope his third album will be even better.
June 25, 201411 yr Author ... but the second and third single both did really well too. The next two singles were just bad choices when he had 'Moonshine'. True but I feel that, other than the first three singles, the rest of the album was sub-par.
October 16, 20168 yr http://www.gossipcop.com/bruno-mars-snl-ne...ch-performance/ New track 'Chunky' performed on SNL and again it's fantastic. He's on fire.
November 4, 20168 yr Versace On the Floor Leaked!! https://dnj.to/2016/11/03/bruno-mars-versac...-floor-snippet/ Official love to play guitar on chords tv d2UZlwTDGbY Edited November 28, 20168 yr by run
November 5, 20168 yr 'Versace On The Floor' is so bloody 90's and an absolute triumph. Somehow manages to give me Boys II Men, Mariah Carey, Janet & MJ vibes all at one. Yes
November 16, 20168 yr This album is absolute FIRE. I love the fact he was like "to hell with 2016" and legit just tried to make the most classic 80's/90's R&B album he could. 'Finesse' sounds like a lost MJ record, 'Versace' like a lost Boys II Men and 'Calling All Lovelies' is even giving me Prince. The song I can leave is 'Perm'.
November 17, 20168 yr Looks like the album's getting a full listen through on Radio 1 this Sunday (20th) at 3:30pm!
December 23, 20168 yr Finally had a listen to this Album and it's brilliant such a 80s/90s throwback album I wish it was longer though !
January 7, 20178 yr That's What I Like is the next single: http://www.josepvinaixa.com/blog/bruno-mar...ts-what-i-like/
April 22, 20178 yr UJtFM69pz80 probably this is the point of no return for Walker, also Bruno's vocals ain't sound like improved or so.
