Posted June 25, 201411 yr No prizes for guessing where their eponymous debut album is likely to chart, but what will its frst week's sales be?
June 25, 201411 yr Author If not for Ed's 2nd week sales, there would surely be no doubt that it'd get to #1. I suspect he'll sell at least 60k next week, so that would be a significant total for a fanbase boyband act to overcome.
June 25, 201411 yr I think probably just over 50k, going by their single selling 80K and the amount of multi-buying that would have occurred with that. Edited June 25, 201411 yr by mr_aly
June 25, 201411 yr I believe it will be around 60,000, that said, is there any gimmicks to the release such as different covers that will make fans buy more than one copy,if so the sales may be higher.

I'm not sure different covers would make that much difference to album sales, given how much more expensive they are than singles...
June 25, 201411 yr LOVE all of their material so far, should be a number one with 100k+ opening sales, but realistically it'll sell 62k. EDIT: I don't understand why so many people are wishing them to flop, why is it a bad thing that their album is looking to go to number one? They write all of their own songs themselves, they play all of their instruments, they clearly have the likeability factor else they wouldn't have any fans. They are just a bunch of lads trying to create the music that they love; just because you may not like that style of music, why should you want to deprive them of a number one album, something they - 2 years ago - could only have dreamed of? The amount of scrutiny acts get just for being a boy band on this site is vile. Edited June 25, 201411 yr by CallumC97

Something something subjectivity something something different opinions Why would you want an act that you don't like to have a #1 album? It's not like people are saying they'd actively go out of their way to do something to prevent it.
June 25, 201411 yr Something something subjectivity something something different opinions Why would you want an act that you don't like to have a #1 album? It's not like people are saying they'd actively go out of their way to do something to prevent it. My reasoning behind it was, if someone deserves the success they are getting, why would you wish to downplay that success. I understand if an act you prefer is releasing the same week, but when 5 Secons of Summer look like the only likely candidates for number one, it's a redundant opinion as no other new release will get there. You might as well congratulate them whilst they're successful. I loath Little Mix, however I've never moaned about how much success they're getting and thy have less creative control over their work than 5SOS do! At the end of the day I was just stating my opinion, if you don't agree with it fair enough. I'm in no way going to force my views upon you. :D
