I'm going to do a detail on each song. Because I can. I was torn between providing 'If This Is Love' 06 or an 07 but everytime I hear 'If This Is Love' i can't help but enjoy the brilliant pop of the song.

 

07 Up

This is mainly so Eyes doesn't demote me as a mod. 'Up' did make The Saturday's whether I like to admit it or not. I believe 'Up' would have been #01 had it not been released during the xFactor period and had better airplay before hand - it's increase in airplay was incredible after it went top 10. I was thinking about providing 'Up' with a 06 but decided against it as I do think it's still a rather great piece of pop.

 

07 Issues

Had I done this rate two months ago - I feel I would be providing 'Issues' with a 10 but since hearing more ballads from The Saturday's I can't help but think 'Issues' has aged rather well and The Saturday's do indeed have better ballads. 'Issues' is still one of their most successful songs and deservedly so.

 

08 Just Can't Get Enough

I was going to provide 'Just Can't Get Enough' with a 07 but didn't want to provide four songs in a row with 07. I've rated 'Just Can't Get Enough' higher than the previous three due to the fact that it's still a brilliant piece of pop which is cheerful and allows you to dance. I do hope 'Just Can't Get Enough' can avoid finishing in the bottom two.

 

09 Work

Who would have thought that a song peaking at #22 would be The Saturday's fourth least successful single behind 30 Days, If This Is Love (which peaked top 10) and 'Gentlemen' and 'My Heart Takes Over' which both peaked respectively in the top 15. 'Work' would have been top 20 had it not been for the death of Micheal Jackson. 'Work' is an absolute brilliant piece of pop and the second verse is easily one of my favourite verses by The Saturday's. The chorus is also incredibly explosive.

 

-01 Forever Is Over

I don't believe that 'Forever Is Over' is a -1 song but I genuinely wanted to hand out a -1 other than 'Gentlemen'. I've never really managed to click with 'Forever Is Over' and fully believe that this was the beginning of awful decisions made by Saturday's management.

 

07 Ego

Returning back to rating songs at 07 I have Ego. I wasn't a massive fan of the 'Wordshaker' era and I never really loved 'Ego' just supported the track because it was good pop and by The Saturday's.

 

09 Missing You

Sorry Hurricane. I still adore 'Missing You' to this current date and think it was a massive song towards pushing The Saturday's into progression. 'Missing You' is still my most played from all songs that are currently out and I do hope that 'Missing You' could provide a battle for the top 10.

 

10 Higher

I don't think I've struggled more than picking between 'Higher' and 'What About Us' but I eventually choose the latter - I don't know why but 'What About Us' is still more current. I can never deal with any 'Higher' shade (Totto) as I believe it's their best pop single and I hope they will return to something like this sooner rather than later.

 

09 Notorious

It all looked so good for The Saturday's when they performed 'Notorious' on So You Think You Can Dance. I adore how they took an opportunity to release it on air / on sale which to this date has potentially damaged their airplay. 'Notorious' is still an absolute incredible song which is feel good and was the beginning of a new sound for The Saturday's.

 

10 All Fired Up

I remember at first being disappointed with 'All Fired Up' believing that it would underperform and make the 'On Your Radar' campaign perform even worse. It looked great at first with their highest opening week sales and starting a chart run of 03-04. I blame the xFactor for 'All Fired Up' freefalling shortly after.

 

09 My Heart Takes Over

Poor 'My Heart Takes Over' such a brilliant ballad which deserved much better. I fully believe had 'My Heart Takes Over' performed better in the charts it would be adored by the majority.

 

07 30 Days

I remember being excited when '30 Days' premiered before fastly growing bored with it. I would have preferred them to have released 'Get Ready Get Set' or 'Faster' rather than releasing '30 Days'. The highlight of 30 Days is the potato going into the bin and a rather fantastic video.

 

11 What About Us

Barang Barang Barang! My 11 goes to 'What About Us' which is such a feel good dance track and is something The Saturdays' should always be sticking with. I loved the addition of Sean Paul and I must admit that 'What About Us' had much more potential worldwide - had they promoted it could have done much better in Australia as well as getting higher peaks in Canada, New Zealand and Germany.

 

02 Gentlemen

This ruined 'Living For The Weekend' campaign. Had 'Disco Love' or 'Not Giving Up; been released before hand I'm sure album sales would be much higher and they would be in a much better position with airplay and the greatest hits album.

 

08 Disco Love

'Disco Love' should have performed better in the charts - It had good airplay and rather incredible promotion. It should have sold more than 130,000. It's still a rather great pop track and was undoubtedly a good choice to lead the album.

 

10 Not Giving Up

I can't deal with 'Not Giving Up' flopping - It will be forgetting in the future and deserved to do so, so, so, so, so much better. Got Me on overdose, I'll be your rock of gold.

 

09 What Are You Waiting For?

I would have provided this 10 in maybe a week or two but I don't think it's as good as 'Higher' and 'All Fired Up' it was difficult to choose between this and 'Not Giving Up' for the 10 points but I think 'Not Giving Up' will need it more.

I think you've meant we're entitled to one 11, not one 10? Also are we entitled to ".5" as in "9.5", for example?

It just amuses me SO GREATLY that a so-called Saturdays LOON can allow himself spell the group name as "The Saturday's" THREE TIMES.

 

Not even to mention it's a single 'Gentleman' they desperately try to sing about, not several of them.

 

WAYWF has JUST LEAKED and is out in more than a month as well.

 

The mind boggles. Floppage ALL AROUND.

08 If This Is Love: Bit like my initial response to Missing You with a response of skipping it whenever it came on, I've really grown to love this song and how simple and basic it is. Huzzah for old Saturdays pop! :yahoo:

 

09 Up: All I can remember about this song when it was released was dancing around my room with my sister. Such a great pop track and pleased with how it scored in the ultimate girlband rate in the Pop forum!

 

03 Issues:

 

07 Just Can't Get Enough:

 

-1 Work: It was either this or Issues. Good tracks but I find them both HIGHLY overrated and don't seem to understand the buzz myself as "Fall" and "Chasing Lights" and "Set Me Off" are far superior in my opinion but each to their own! :huh:

 

11 Forever Is Over: Everything about this song is just great - it was definitely the song that made me invest in them as a group! Love the lyrics, love the video, love the artwork, Frankie's hair, Rochelle's lines, damn Chipmunk for depriving them of what could have been a number one :(

 

08 Ego: It's a shame people blame the fail of Wordshaker/this track on FIO, but in it's own right Ego is a good track and was just mistimed really. Another song in my top most played on iTunes!

 

09 Missing You: I'll never understand the hate for this track either, it's an upbeat ballad, it's summery and it's fun without being too serious or too fun either. Another one I'm looking forward to seeing on the tour!

 

09 Higher: Everything about this song is just great - isn't in the 10 and 11 group for me due to me adoring the On Your Radar singles, but up there in the top tracks by the girls!

 

10 Notorious: Initially wasn't a fan of this, but took me a few listens and is one of my favourites from them in general! Similar to Forever is Over in terms of the lyrics and the video as well as promotion being spot on for this track. Definitely deserved top five in my opinion and so excited for this to be performed on tour!

 

10 All Fired Up: Sold a decent amount, a great upbeat track and definitely should have announced On Your Radar on the back of this as opposed to My Heart Takes Over! In joint fourth place on my top 25 played on iTunes with MHTO, so, so catchy :wub:

 

10 My Heart Takes Over: I love the video for this so much - Vanessa and Frankie are flawless. Vanessa and Rochelle dominating vocals as well and can connect with the lyrics more so with this song than other ballads the girls have done!

09 Not Giving Up: Something about Mollie, Vanessa and Frankie (on the radio mix) just make me love this song. Definitely similar to AFU, but not as great as AFU in my opinion!
