Shiver is a dream  CDTD is a joy to listen to, her best album, only just ahead of White Lilies Island.

I don't quite get the love for White Lilies Island :( I like it and the singles + Do You Love are AMAZING, but I'd choose all three of the other albums over it I think. CDTD > Come To Life (unpopular opinion but I really like it) > Left of the Middle > White Lilies Island

Pleased to see Extraordinary Day get a 10 rating! It physically hurts me inside when people refer to it as filler :drama:

I've said my views on ICBITMH before, it's pleasant but for some reason it never really clicked with me. A #50 peak in my chart seems so out of place when the majority of her singles go to #1 for me! :o

It's a really powerful song, most definitely *not* filler. MI has very little filler at all, I'd say only Miscommunication comes under that for me.

That's fair enough :kink: Each to their own of course! The #50 peak seems very odd though :o It would've been a #1 probably in 2010, 3 years after the album was released but I had no clue that album existed until then

AVERAGE - 9.5

This top 2 for albums is absolutely incredible and I've had to rank each song on both albums and create an average to determine the order, I was absolutely torn. My #1 album got an average of 9.625 so there wasn't a huge deal in it. Lucie's debut album is seriously great though, I have a lot of memories with it and not a single song is below 8/10 (only one song below 9/10 also).

Any predictions as to what #1 is???

I agree, Miscommunication is a 7 at most for me, shame it wasn't ousted off the main tracklist in favour of Nobody Listened (or ANY of the many stunning b-sides from the era, but that's another story altogether!)

I did buy the CD single in the end to complete my collection but oddly I ended up preferring the Katherine Jenkins cover

Silence Be Heard/The Riddle/If I Forget were my favourite b-sides that era IIRC, would've been happy with them on the album  She always has some stunning b-sides that are worthy of being on albums, the Delta era is especially bad for that - Take Me Home, Breathe In Breathe Out, Fever, Unsure

 I've heard the Katherine Jenkins cover, don't think I was big on it but opera is most definitely not my thing anyway :kink: I wish I'd known of all the Australian single releases at the time so I could've bought their CD singles  :( (although I've not even got the Not Me Not I UK singles )

All so good, I just can't fathom how the likes of Silence Be Heard and The Riddle didn't make it onto an album! Take Me Home would have been about the 3rd best song on Delta if it was on there, it's an absoltuely mystery as to why that was left off. It sounds like it has quite high production values too, and Delta is otherwise packed with cheap sounding ballads

I think she has the best ballads of any artist I like - I find quite a load of GA/Saturdays b-sides fairly weak with only a few good ones in there really, whereas a lot of Delta's are almost as strong as the singles themselves. Delta's not a bad album at all but could've been improved with Breathe In Breathe Out and Take Me Home, at least, on there in place of a couple of the tracks (Possessionless and Woman are my two least faves so I'd pick them :kink:)

I love Possessionless but Woman has always stood out as a dud. Change the lyric from Woman to some other generic word and it's essentially just a Westlife song down to the backing track, the key change and production, and indeed the songwriters! How on earth it found a place on Delta over Take Me Home I have no idea!

The b-sides from the first album were all lovely too, especially Hear Me Calling, Here I Am and Right There Waiting (and the Xmas songs).

Love alone again. Such an amazing song

It will enter my countdown when I do the countdown to end all countdowns (if I get round to it).

Alone Again  Gets too much hate IMO!

I look forward to seeing your countdown!! I have no doubt that it will be fantastic :D

You're right about that, it's a fairly nice track but Delta's proved on so many occasions that she's better than just "nice". Woman is definitely not a classic in her discography. Take Me Home would've been much more worthy of a slot on the album, I think that's pretty much universally thought amongst Delta fans from what I've seen.

I agree about that! Here I Am is a brilliant track (in both versions), and her cover of Happy Xmas (War Is Over) is very very good also. I also like the b-sides from the COTU era, was never too familiar with the Wish You Were Here b-sides but Uncovered and Waiting For Forever were both top 15 hits in my chart, and it's rare I'll chart any b-sides

Alone Again gets hate :( Didn't really know that. Always loved it but I wish the rap version was on spotify as well unless I've gone blind [but I love the just Alyssa version as well]

My countdown is going to be mad. It will be one of the biggest countdowns songwise and at the moment I am in the middle of getting the songs I like onto a word document [i've done A-J of songs I just own on ITunes so far]

Can't wait to see the top 10

Yeah, a lot of people prefer the song it samples I think (Alone by Heart), which is fair enough but personally I never knew the original before Alyssa's version so that's kinda like the original for me! I just checked out Spotify and you're right, the rap version isn't there! :o How very odd! Track 4 on her album is labelled as having Jump Smokers on it but it's the solo version. Strange!

That's a great way of doing it! I used a process of elimination to determine my list, kept removing any songs I didn't feel should be on the countdown until I was left with 100 ^_^

Top 10 coming imminently!

10 Ulrik Munther - Heroes in Defeat (Change Your Mind)

Don't think a lot of casual viewers will recognise this track (or artist) so I'll explain. Ulrik Munther is a 20 year old Swedish singer, most known for entering Melodifestivalen in 2012 with Soldiers, and 2013 with Tell the World I'm Here, and coming third both times. Tell the World I'm Here featured lower down in the countdown, but my favourite track of his, this track at #10, is an album track from his debut album, released in 2011. It always struck a chord with me and I adore the message. I only discovered Ulrik last year, and this track entered right at #1 on my chart (two years after it was released). I ranked it my favourite song of 2013, although as I said before, that's only on a technicality as it's a 2011 song. It's a gorgeous song nonetheless and my favourite BJSC of mine! Shame it's one of the worst performing. :(

(if you listen to one song from this countdown, it really must be this one )

Catching up!

'These Words', always loved it but never fully appreciated it until this year, for the classic that it is. A great #1 for her even if 'Unwritten' seems more remembered.

I also really like 'It's Amazing', was one of my faves from 2008 :o Discovered it from hearing it in an ad, and I already knew 'Just A Ride' and '24' before then. Not sure which of those is my fave tbh!

Thanks Jordan!! These Words really is great, it's aged so well for me. Unwritten is gorgeous too, only *just* missed out on my top 100!

Ooh an It's Amazing fan! :o These are very hard to come by  I knew They and Just a Ride but wasn't hugely fussed on either at the time, but It's Amazing made me go and revisit her older songs and I grew to love them very quickly. 24 is one of my favourites on the debut album :D

I don't quite get the love for White Lilies Island :( I like it and the singles + Do You Love are AMAZING, but I'd choose all three of the other albums over it I think. CDTD > Come To Life (unpopular opinion but I really like it) > Left of the Middle > White Lilies Island

Goodbye >>>>> Her entire discography.

Come To Life is a joy to listen to, I agree. Fun, All The Roses, Want ( most undeserved flop EVER), Wild About it....basically the whole thing bar My God

Left Of The Middle is kinda bleh to me, singles and a few album tracks aside. Intuition is amaze, mainly due to it being very Alanis-y :kink:

Oh I quite like My God! The only dud for me is Cameo, doesn't really do anything for me. My favourites are Lukas, Fun, Want and Scars  Left of the Middle has some real gems on it I think, singles aside I really like Leave Me Alone, One More Addiction, Intuition and City.

9 Beyoncé & Shakira - Beautiful Liar

Down into single figures now, and we meet two artists that have both yet to appear in the countdown so far. Beautiful Liar is Beyoncé's only entry, whereas Shakira still has one more to come. Beautiful Liar gives me fond memories of one of my favourite holidays - trip to Cornwall with all of my dad's side of the family. Was really enjoyable and I treasure those memories, especially as we don't all live nearby anymore. Beautiful Liar has always been a great track for me and I still listen to it frequently.
