Oldest: Gary Barlow & Elton John - Face To Face (66 years old)

 

For Elton obviously. Surprised there's been nobody younger than 16 actually!

Oldest: Johnny Cash "Hurt" -> went to #1 posthumously around 8 weeks after his death. He was 71 years old in 2003 when he passed away.

David Bowie "Love Is Lost" -> oldest living artist to make #1, Bowie was 66 years 11 months old in 2013 when it spent 2 weeks at #1 in December.

 

Youngest: Laura Marling - > was just 18 years 2 months old when "Young Love" by Mystery Jets ft. Laura Marling went to #1 in April 2008.

Howard Lawrence from Disclosure -> was the youngest male and was 18 years 9 months old when "White Noise" topped my chart in early 2013.
