Yay! a much deserved prize for a fantastic debut :D :D

wouldn't worry about this so-called 'curse' though- doesn't seem to have affected Franz Ferdinand much.

EDIT: last year's nominees:

Antony and the Johnsons - I Am A Bird Now

Bloc Party - Silent Alarm

Coldplay - X&Y

The Go! Team - Thunder, Lightning, Strike

Hard-Fi - Stars of CCTV

Kaiser Chiefs - Employment

KT Tunstall - Eye to the Telescope

The Magic Numbers - The Magic Numbers

Maximo Park - A Certain Trigger

MIA - Arular

Polar Bear - Held on the Tips of Fingers

Seth Lakeman - Kitty Jay Did

Thanks a lot for those :D and yeah a lot of commercial albums there :o I remember I was rooting for Maximo :D

The year Franz won was far more commercial than that. Amy Winehouse, Keane, Franz, Snow Patrol, Zutons, Jamelia, Joss Stone, Belle & Sebastian, The Streets AND Basement Jaxx.

Only Robert Wyatt and Ty were acts not in the public eye that much or commercial.

Last year there was Antony, Go! Team, Seth, Polar Bear, MIA and to some extent Maximo Park.

Yeah I suppose your right. They don't really need much media coverage as becuase of the hype before a lot of new fans have began to listen to their music, but I mean the casual buyers will probably start to forget about them as they always do. -_-

I don't think another act would ever act that way in an interview. Cookie is hilarious in that interview, but he's right in the fact that journalists ask some of the most stupid questions ever.

Cookie is hilarious in that interview

Agreed, he was on top form there  My hat goes off to all of them for giving them all their comeupance for the questions ^_^

Normally the journalists are ripping the acts or artists or whatever to pieces but this time it was the opposite way round. I can imagine some of the journalists there will have had very red faces and will have though the Arctics were right t**** but well I certainley don't think the Arctics will care. ^_^
Well as a viewer and a fan I thought it was just funny really and it showed what they have in them  I absolutely hate journalists so it's nice for them to get something done back to them ^_^

Well I don't hate journalists as you always get some nice ones but then you always get some really bad ones who are really bad people and don't respond to criticism very well, but it was very good to watch the Arctics lay into them, and it showed what down to earth guys they were as a lot of other bands really wouldn't have had the guts to do that.
