Quite a few very popular artists starting to be revealed now, for example Jessie J who falls out the top 50 despite being top 20 back in 2012. Ciara continues to be incredibly consistent by staying within the same 7 positions throughout all 4 years while Melanie C matches her peak position on her return to the chart. Perhaps surprisingly, Jordin Sparks climbs a massive 31 places compared to 2012 despite releasing no new album in that time and Miley Cyrus only climbs 8 places meaning Demi Lovato will win the battle of arguably the 3 main Disney stars at the moment: herself, Miley and Selena. Finally Diana Vickers falls 20 places despite releasing the incredible 'Music To Make Boys Cry' last year.

QUEEN ALANIS deserves a mention.

Well thank GOD at that drop for Jessie. Wasn't expecting it as her fans seem to be constantly multiplying for no huge reason but it's great to see.

I was very surprised Alanis was that high, she is pretty fab though. Jagged Little Pill is ESSENTIAL.

 

 

Sophie Ellis-Bextor above Miley and Jordin Sparks, not to mention others not in that section, is criminal though :(

Once again, a lot of new entries in this section including the likes of Leah McFall who has had a lot of Buzzjack support for her recent single 'Home' and Tove Lo who has recently had success commercially after having a lot of hype on the internet blogs. Surprisingly Hilary Duff is also a new entry despite releasing her first single around a decade ago, although she has been on a break for the past few years and has only very recently returned with new singles 'Chasing the Sun' and 'All About You'. A slight decrease for Sara Bareilles this year and a larger 47 place drop for Jonna Lee.

 

POOR CASSIE. :( Who else gave her points? How on earth Leah McFall is above her after releasing one song has left me bewildered.

 

I used to adore Kelly Rowland and the faceless dance tracks she imprinted herself on. These days I'd only listen to When Love Takes Over and occasionally her track with Tinie Tempah, Invincible out of choice. Not an artist who ages well at all.

 

'Commander' is still an absolute TUNE.

Demi Lovato and Sia both make big climbs from their 2012 positions while Delta Goodrem continues to be fantastically consistent just outside the top 40. Ella Henderson makes a fantastic debut on the chart based on just one single release while Alicia Keys is on the edge of the top 50 after being top 10 back in 2010.

I love most of that section though, especially Demi (obviously!), Iggy, Ella, Delta and Jessie.

Wow, I thought Iggy would be top 20 actually! The amount of nominations she got was absolutely ridiculous, I believe she was the second most nominated artist.
