I don't think you hate it, don't worry

I just think the whole "I love it, but it should be _____ at #2 or #1" talk is infuriating.

This whole conversation is just trying to find ways of justifying your argument against your favourite not being #1.

Of course songs are going to go up and down. Some may sound more dated than others, but that's for as and when.

Right now.. '808' has just been released and people love it and rate it amongst their best album tracks.. right now.

I completely understand what you're saying.. that people's opinions may change in a year or two. But we're not there yet.

People like the song now, that's why they've rated it so highly.

It's like with the official charts. You like a song now, so you buy it/stream it and help it to chart well.. Two years down the line you may absolutely hate the song.

Doesn't take away the fact that at the time you loved it and there were other older songs that you liked but you put this before it.

They don't say.. "We won't give this track the #1 yet. Let's see if people still like it in 6 months to a year".

I personally don't like 'GRGS' as much as other people seem to, but if it's been voted there by the majority, I wouldn't say it wasn't worthy.

It's kind of ruining the results being announced.

Not really sure why this is an issue! We're all entitled to think whatever. If '808' wins then congrats to it! Although it's not my perfect winner, I'd respect that is the collective wiinner from all voters. Like I said, I love the song, I gave it a 10. But I gave some other songs 10s and some 11, and on the scale of things '808' is probably in the lower section of my '10s'. And I'd genuinely prefer 'Get Ready, Get Set' to win out of the two, surely that's not bad to say?
Bye Felicia.

I did think it should have been a lot higher than 16th. 'Walking Through The Desert' came 10th! It just shows how tastes really vary between communities. Some will think a song is the best thing since sliced bread, while others will find it average, or even bad. Someone on that forum awarded '0' scores to most of the 'On Your Radar' album and a -1 went to 'White Lies'! :o

It's not bad to say at all! But that's what I've been saying all along..

Everyone has their favourites, ofc but my issue was the complaints that '808' was doing well because it's new.

My point was.. If it's been rated there, so what if it won't be there in a year? We like it now! :P

Fair enough! It will be interesting to see how all of the songs hold up for us in the next couple of years to be fair!

I see no lies.

:kink:

It's time to talk about truth now.

Hurricane needs help.

I'm joking, 'White Lies' is good...but like 6-7 good. People giving it a 11 is baffling. :drama:

It doesn't get interesting until the chorus. The first verse/pre-chorus is so long to get past, I always skip it because it's far too long without being even slightly catchy. The chorus is clearly the best part.

Una's middle-8 is lush, though.

The chorus is a moment *.*

Still bitter that they never did on the All Fired Up tour. :snif:

I was going to ask them when I met them why they hated it.. But getting a selfie took over my brain :(

General Comment: Some of you will be happy to know that 808 didn't take the no.1 spot but by miracle reached second best at no.2! Yes it's high place may be mainly due to this rate happening so soon after hearing the two new tracks but WTTD didn't make it this high? So who knows...only time will tell if 808 is as loved as we think! In my opinion 808 is probably one of my favourite songs they've done and it does sound a lot like What About Us but surely if that's they're only no.1 they should of released it! DUH! Who cares if it makes them seem generic it's miles ahead of WAYWF and Rochelle's fast singing/rap kinda/whatever it is is so fresh and it's nice to hear them change it up abit. Una sounds f***ing brill tbh and in her words it is a total 'banger' tbh. The lyrics aren't exactly Shakespeare but 'Fight like an animal, bang like a cannonball' is amazing and fight was clearly changed from f*** hahahah i like how the two top tracks are sexual for a girl-band with a lot of young fans hahaha. At the same time I can see how people get bored of this. For a fortnight this was the only thing I listened to and then I got sick of it so much but then I saw it live and It's quite nice now and nostalgic to listen to. Receiving 3 11's, a WHOPPING 9 10's and a mixture of 8-9's its no wonder 808 came so high. It's lowest score was a 5 but apart from that it did incredibly well! Tbh I'm proud 808 came this far as it's clearly a loved track and anyone who gets upset about it being so high needs to chill, it's not going to be at no.2 on the next rate like this is it?? ...OF COURSE NOT...IT'LL BE No.1    mwahhahahahahahha

General Comment: So surprise surprise GRGS has got the top spot and is still as loved 3 years on! Despite not being my favourite personal track, I do have to say it's an incredible catchy song and as cringey as the lyrics are they are some of the best they've produced and 'I can do it with my hands tied behind my back' is a career highlight hahaha lets be honest! I can't imagine OYR without GRGS, it's just one of their signature songs and this is clear to see from the results with an INCREDIBLE 6 11's, 7 10's and 5 9's. Even though it came so far, it's lowest score was a 3 but apart from that the rest of the results were marginally positive. As much as I love 808, GRGS really is the better song and would have been a great single choice. I can just imagining 9 year old girls singing the lyrics whilst the video played in the front room hahhahha. It was probably quite predictable it won considering it was the lanyard track and predictability is not something that's guaranteed being a sats fan so GRGS is nice I guess hahah :kink: but anyway thankyou for anyone and everyone who voted and I can't wait for the next rate like this (if they even bother to release music) because they're so interesting!

As much as I love 808 over Get Ready, Get Set (which I like, before anyone assumes I don't), I am pleased a track the girls wrote is the winning track!

slay mama 808

I really love both of the top 2, but 808 edges it for me. but only just

I don't hate it either, it's a 5-4 for me. There was periode where I really liked it, Una's middle-8 and Roch's parts is what attracted me. There will be moment where I will like it agian and then it's a 6-7, but it's so overrated. I don't hear why people think it's one of their best tracks, I still believe everyone is just trolling the song, there is no way they're serious.

SLAY etc.

Thank you for the rate.

'Get Ready, Get Set'
is an amazing euro-dance/pop song. In fact, I believe it is just as strong as 'All Fired Up', hell, I would even say it's the better track Xenomania produced for them (fair enough, there's only three...)

So glad, it won. ^_^

It's all about Una and Mollie on that track and I was really proud when I read that they were the two who predominantly co-wrote it with Xenomania. Their vocals are beyond lush on it as well.

Oh and the routine!

Gosh, it's so good.

Yay for the winner!

And I honestly prefer What Are You Waiting For? to 808 but I feel like I'm the only one who thinks that!
