Yeah I held out hope that we'd get a surprise winner for the fourth series in a row but I think that ended as soon as they cut it down to two people - I don't remember them doing that before. That meant anyone who wanted to vote but didn't like opera was going to go for Stevie and he obviously has a wider appeal.

We always disagree eh Liam and yes I know your feelings on Ben :) Ben was popular with Housewives but the difference is he is also very popular with the young as well. As I've said before check out his twitter feed he is loved by women of all ages/a lot of young girls there and Men like him too. Can you honestly see young girls screaming at Stevie like they do Ben? Looks are personal taste but comparing Ben's appeal to Steve is crazy imo. Stevie is a singing Andy Murray!

I have Stevie have some young girl fans too. It doesn't mean he is "popular with all ages", they just happen to be among the most visible on his Twitter. I'm sure both him and Ben have SOME fans of both genders and all ages but I just think the "housewife" demographic is where a large amount of the votes for not just Ben and Stevie but for most winners of these singing shows. Along with teenage girls, they're most likely to be voting and your everyman with a safe voice is what usually appeals to them. There's no way to really prove these things but I can't see how they're THAT different that they're going to have such different fanbases, personally.

As always its personal taste. When I saw Ben I saw great potential and also great marketability if handled correctly. When I saw Stevie I saw nothing at all, except as I've already stated that the Scots would get behind him and I believe the majority of his votes came from that. I agree Teenagers and Housewives/women are more likely vote. I just think Ben will be far more popular with both than Stevie.

They fit in with the same markets tbh, neither of them are gonna make much/any impact at all.

1 on itunes - everyone is underestimating the song - virtually no-one will have heard the Adam Levine version, and it's an Oscar-nominated fabulous Greg "New Radicals" Alexander song. In terms of best song to go with, it really was an inspired choice for Stevie (though not the other 3)..

Don't think Stevie will have much of a career like the winners before him. He like to shout too much and if their is a hint of a high note he cannot reach it.

 

Well at least boring Emmanuelle didn't win. The final should have been Sasha & Lucy.

I don't really like opera as most of it is in Italian anyway but Lucy got me hooked.

Emmanuel, Stevie, Sasha, Clark and Karis are by far my favourites! Sheena is good too but a tad screechy tonight and I was backing Joe but his performance tonight was a let down (although his face wasn't x). So yes Emmanuel, Clark, Sheena and Joe I guess out of the remaining to go through.

 

Also, a few performances were very Eurovision!
