(let's face it, it's not gonna miss the top 40 so not gonna include that as an option)

The lead single for One Direction's fourth studio album FOUR is released on 12th October, and premiered officially today. Listen below:

Has almost always been top 200 since it was put up for pre-order and peaked in the top 40 (so far). Airplay kicks in today also, and the official video release is still to come, so I think there's still more momentum in the pre-order.

Personally I think this will be #1. Meghan will be on her third week by that point so sales won't be quite as high for her, I can't see Nicki Minaj or The Vamps charting ahead either.

Make sure to give your opinion on the track (good or bad) here also :D

OMG don't JINX IT!!11

#2 behind Avicii :)

(jk this will obviously go to #1* as that won't be released by then)

*although I said this about Best Song Ever/Live While We're Young and look what happened :kink:

 I think both Best Song Ever and LWWY were quite unlucky. The former had Avicii's huge second week and the latter had a new RiRi single as well as Gangnam Style still at its peak.

Yeah, the sales when they just narrowly missed #1 were very high. With a pre-order up already doing well and 'Anaconda' which unfortunately has not been playlisted by R1 as the main competition, it will go #1 easily.

I put top 3 but I think that's wishful thinking on my part - I honestly can't see it missing #1, but I don't think its sales will be particularly great.

Heard it's first play on Radio 1 this afternoon. Sounds quite country like that free song they put out a few weeks ago.

Is this their new "direction"? As they do it quite well IMO. From what I remember it was a decent enough song nice and chilled. just like the other one.

It probably will be #1, but let's not discount Nicki already. She'll have 2 months of pre-orders in the top 200, plus another few weeks not far outside.

That's true but 1D have peaked higher on pre-orders and are top 100 right now, before airplay has properly kicked in. I can see her being an easy top 5 but can't see it being #1! Lack of airplay will also dent it a bit I think.

I agree that it should be an easy top 5 for Nicki and 1D should have an easy #1 in theory. I just think Anaconda's a bit unpredictable because it could plummet due to lack of airplay or the hype might be enough to keep it up there.

it'll go to #1 even if it's total crap. :teresa:

It is and sadly it will be number 1............

I don't know why people keep saying "well obviously number one", their last two lead singles failed to land there so why should this?

For some reason I just can't see it going all the way as much as I'd like it to (watch it go smash now ), I'm predicting 3/4 for this.

Their last 2 lead singles had massive competition. Nothing on this tracks' same release week appears to be on that scale so it's simply a matter of if they can oust Meghan Trainor.
