For the second week running, Sandi Thom is at No.1 with her long lilting

lullaby, "I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)". It has helped

her album "Smile.. it Confuses People" move up the charts this week too, going

from 40 to 28, it's highest position so far.

Last week's second highest debut was Shannon Noll's eighth Top 50 single,

"Lonely". Well this week it moves from 13 to 8 to become also his eighth Top 10

single. This now sets a new record on the Australian charts in that he is the

only Male Performer to have his first eight single all reach the Top 10. The

record was set by the Spice Girls who had their first 10 singles all reach the

Top 10, after which they had no more. And although Delta Goodrem had 10 Top 10

singles in a row, she did actually have the Top 70 single "I Don't Care" as her

first chart entry.

The highest debut comes in at No.13, and is the 23rd Top 100 single for

Robbie Williams. "Rudebox" is the name of the tune, and also the name of the

October 21st release album. In August 1996 he had his first Top 5 single with

the cover of the George Michael track "Freedom" and now 10 years later he is

making his mark again. His last chart entry was the No.26 track from late June,

"Sin, Sin, Sin".

Kelis debuts at No.18 with her new single "Bossy". She is also currently in

the charts as guest vocalist on Busta Rhymes' track "I Love My Chick", but her

last solo effort was the November 2004 No.23 hit "Millionaire". That came off

the back of the two Top 10 singles from earlier in 2003, "Milkshake" (No.2,

January) and "Trick Me" (No.5, June).

Little Ms. Gudinski, better know to the charts as Kate Alexa debuts with her

fourth chart entry at No.33, "Somebody Out There". She has her debut album out

in October, and this follows up her first Top 10 single from April this year,

"All I Hear".

In July Something for Kate hit No.1 on the album charts with "Desert

Lights", and the second single from that album debuts at No.39 this week, "Oh

Kamikaze". The first single was the track "Cigarettes and Suitcases" which

reached No.23 in May 2006.

Audioslave take over the No.1 position on the albums chart this week with

their third album "Revelations". Their previous two albums have both made it

into the Top 10, "Audioslave" (No.8, November 2002) and "Out of Exile" (No.3,

May 2005).

It also makes it four weeks in a row that an album has only spent one week

at the top of the albums chart, and with Justin Timberlake's new album out on

Monday, I don't expect Audioslave to be at the top for a second week, but we'll

just have to wait and see.

It's the second time at the top for the word "Revelations", and not too

recently either. Muse's "Black Holes and Revelations" was at No.1 only 7 weeks

ago, giving this year two sets of titles at No.1. The other one was "Back to"

(Christina A and James Blunt).

Beyonce's second solo album comes in at No.8 this week, "B'Day". Her first

album "Dangerously in Love" hit No.2 in the first week of July 2003, and spawned

four Top 20 singles. The first track off the current album is "Deju-Vu" which is

sitting at No.17 this week.
