December 12, 201410 yr Author soz, if you could see yourself out? thx I'm going nowhere dear, a few more incredible songs left to reveal! :o How do you feel about P!nk tbh~
December 12, 201410 yr Author 09 - P!nk - Just Like A Pill JDKGWaCglRM And I swear you're just like a pill, instead of makin' me better you keep makin' me ill, you keep makin' me ill. 'Just Like A Pill' was the third single to be taken from P!nk's sophomore release 'M!ssundaztood'. I remember my mum saying to me that she was convinced this song would be a #1 hit if she released it, and that ended up being the case! My mum could certainly tell a hit from a flop back in the day. x It became P!nk's first UK #1 (under her own steam) in September 2002, outselling Busted's debut single 'What I Go To School For' in the process. It's a toss up between this and 'Who Knew' for my favourite P!nk single. The latter song means a lot to me... so watch out for it in my forthcoming 2005-2009 thread (yes, that is going to be a thing that happens) :kink:
December 12, 201410 yr this is better, though not her best and by that i don't mean the gay's favourite 'family portrait' omg i really relate to the lyrics as i TOO have come from a broken home puke8 tbh
December 12, 201410 yr Author Totally belt this whenever it comes on. Such a banger. I have been known to do the same! :kink: I saw P!nk at her Birmingham concert in 2009 and pretty much screamed this one out. this is better, though not her best and by that i don't mean the gay's favourite 'family portrait' omg i really relate to the lyrics as i TOO have come from a broken home puke8 tbh ! 'Family Portrait' was never a huge favourite of mine, definitely my least favourite single from that album (I did include it at #462 here though!). Which song do you regard as being her best? Make it a good one pls. :o
December 12, 201410 yr i love the singles off her R&B debut and then 'who knew' and 'u + ur hand are firm favz I HOPE THAT IS OK
December 17, 201410 yr Just Like a Pill is great but I think she has a lot better! Blow Me (One Last Screw) :heehee: is my fave x
December 19, 201410 yr Author 08 - Girls Aloud - Sound Of The Underground V9Wv4SCBiTE Disco dancin' with the lights down low... Girls Aloud's debut single was released 12 years ago this week. I really can't believe it's been that long! :( This is such an incredible song, and in my opinion it sounds almost as fresh now as it did all those years ago. I remember being rather taken aback when I first heard this song. I caught the last half of it on the radio, and it just sounded so out of the ordinary - it wasn't anything like I'd imagined it might be! When I eventually heard it in full, it properly clicked with me, and from that moment I was completely convinced that Girls Aloud would be Christmas #1 in 2002, not their Popstars: The Rivals boy band counterparts One True Voice. Therefore I was incredibly pleased when Girls Aloud did indeed make it to #1, it was so deserved.
December 19, 201410 yr Author 07 - Girls Aloud - No Good Advice mNeO5a5tM4s Here I go, off the road, crank the stereo, I flick a finger to the world below. Despite how much I loved 'Sound Of The Underground', I was still quite prepared for them to be a one-hit wonder that wouldn't stick around for too long. After all, previous Popstars band Hear'Say had pretty much crashed and burned in 2002. Thankfully that wasn't to be the case! 'No Good Advice' was #2 hit for Girls Aloud in May 2003. It launched their debut album 'Sound Of The Underground', which also reached #2. Meanwhile One True Voice's second single only made #10, and they subsequently split up without releasing an album. This is Girls Aloud's highest placed single in my count down and therefore my favourite single out of their first 7 releases. It would remain my favourite single by them until 2005's 'Biology'. However my overall favourite single by Girls Aloud is 'Something Kinda Ooooh', released in 2006.
December 19, 201410 yr Double Girls Aloud!! Both are absolutely flawless, I prefer SOTU to NGA but they kickstarted my GA obsession 11-12 years ago
December 20, 201410 yr Author Sound of the underground is a classic and no good advice is great  Double Girls Aloud!! Both are absolutely flawless, I prefer SOTU to NGA but they kickstarted my GA obsession 11-12 years ago  *.* Agreed with you both! I kind of surprised myself that a Girls Aloud single didn't make my Top 5 though. Top 6 coming soon! Clue: They're all by female artists! herp:
December 20, 201410 yr I prefer No Good Advice to SOTU like you Jay. I'm surprised it didn't smash more. It is a very superior followup to a smash with a real original sound. Girls Aloud all over really.
December 20, 201410 yr Author  It really deserved to do more than it did - I think it only sold 135,000 in all! Looks terrible now, but for the time it was a reasonable sized hit. Glad it peaked as high as #2 as well. I love Sound of the Underground (evidently) but No Good Advice has always edged it slightly for me. Glad you feel the same!
December 21, 201410 yr Author 06 - Britney Spears - Stronger AJWtLf4-WWs My loneliness ain't killing me no more... I'm stronger. I guess some of you will think this is randomly high for 'Stronger', but WHAT a song. *.* I don't use the word "epic" very often but that best describes 'Stronger' for me! It was definitely my highlight track from the 'Oops!... I Did It Again' album, and I was excited when I found out that it was going to be a single. 'Stronger' probably couldn't be regarded as one of her ultimate classics, not outside of the fan base anyway, but it did quite well considering it was the third single from a multi-platinum selling album. The single reached #7 in the UK, and is her 14th best selling single here with sales exceeding 200,000 copies. It also reached #11 in the US.
December 21, 201410 yr I still like 'Stronger'. FAR from her best or even one of her highlights as she has so many that it gets sort of lost among them for me. I might stick around for ha top 5 http://www.skype-emoticons.com/images/emoticon-00117-talking.gif
December 21, 201410 yr Stronger *.* Not one of my absolute favourite Britney tracks but it's a STORMING pop song!
December 21, 201410 yr Author 05 - Kylie Minogue - Can't Get Your Out Of My Head c18441Eh_WE There's a dark secret in me, don't leave me locked in your heart... set me free. 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' was insanely popular back in 2001, but despite being Kylie's most commercially successful single, it seems to be quite disliked on this forum. Well, I love it and that's all that matters quite frankly. http://ionetheurbandaily.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/screen-shot-2012-08-13-at-4-36-53-pm.png Irresistibly catchy in its simplicity, and one of the finest pop songs of the early 2000s. It was 'Spinning Around' that first introduced me to Kylie, but it was 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' which really grabbed me and turned me into a massive fan of hers. I finally got to see her on tour for the first time a couple of months ago, which was long overdue - she's so good live.
December 21, 201410 yr Ooh forgot about this one :o Only grown to like it within the past few years but it really is a pop classic!
