Finally <3 After producing one of the songs of the year Busy Doin' Nothin', which narrowly missed out on winning Melodifestivalen 2014 by one point but was nevertheless a Swedish #1, she is back with a new single called Riot which is sure to be amazing.

 

It is out worldwide TOMORROW. And in this case, the word "worldwide" encompasses the UK for once :o

On first listen of this (just downloaded it) it's not as IN YOUR FACE as 'Busy Doin' Nothin' or 'Do It' but it's still very much Ace Wilder.

I noticed the other day it's finally on Spotify so I thought they just released it with little fanfare, but it's not on itunes :/ I know it's a Melodifestivalen track that didn't even win but it could have been big with a push so they really missed a trick.

Well they went to the effort of doing a 'UK Radio Edit' and starting the hype train (hence the Popjustice image below) so I'd have thought they were doing something with it...

Although from the Riot review on PJ starting with 'Ace Wilder's 'Busy Doin' Nothin'' is one of the most notable non-UK hits (and one of the most infuriating UK non-hits) of 2014.' I'm guessing it's been pushed but it didn't happen.

By pushed they made a UK Radio version and expected something to happen and when it didn't they didn't put it on itunes.

Let us not forget that it took Icona Pop's 'I Love It' a year to be number 1 in the UK after it was a hit everywhere else.

This is a bit of a tune *.* Not as shouty or in your face as her previous stuff I agree, but the chorus is still absolutely killer!

I was hoping for it to build into something more massive but I find the "let's start a riot" hook to be rather limp. :(
