It seems the lads have changed the venue for their Vienna concert ( a very late decision). Does anyone know why? When the European dates were released I feared they'd over estimated demand. I think the new venue, the Gasometer is a much smaller venue than the original one? If the change is indeed due to poor ticket sales, I hope this isn't indicative of European sales across the board.

Re above. Worried for fans who purchased tickets for the Vienna gig. The new venue is tiny!! I don't know how they'll fit the production into such a small space. I'm no stage designer but to replicate the lll production in the Gasometer will be problematic, at best, and impossible, at worst.

If they've changed the venue due to poor ticket sales then the bands management/promoters need a kick up the backside. To leave it so, so late to inform fans of the change, is to say the least, very inconsiderate. They should have released a small number of tour dates for Europe, and if sales were healthy, they could have added additional dates at a later stage.

Very bizarre decision...do we know if it's just that date/venue?

At the moment it seems to be just the Vienna date. The new venue holds around 2,000 - 3,000. I think the original venue was an arena so I guess in the region of 10,000 plus capacity. Info released states that GA and Golden Circle tickets are fine, but anyone who purchased seating must re -purchase. Reading between the lines this suggests that they sold fewer than 3,000 tickets, in which case the original venue would have been less than half capacity.

I sincerely hope this isn't indicative of other European dates, but I have a bad feeling. I thought they were too ambitious with the amount of Germany dates they put out, but I never thought they'd miscalculate to such an extent.

I think the lack of promotion and touring in Europe may have come back to haunt them. The BW tour sold ok, they didn't tour with Circus (and they should have ) and then they did a big European tour with Rob, which didn't truly reflect their popularity, so much as Rob's.

I know that some of the posters didn't wasn't to believe what I said about Take That and the demand in Europe. No concert is sold out. The management has not done them a favour to tour an album that did not sell at all in Europe. They have a fan base at least for touring. But what worked in the UK with three members is not enough and with no hit in addition it is even more difficult.

TT without Jay and Robbie is a UK phenomena

Hi Elisabeth. I don't think many of us disputed your views. Most of us recognize that Rob is significantly more popular than TT. I'm sure I said at the time, but I'm too lazy to check back through the posts, that the large number of German dates was optimistic. I was surprised they didn't go for smaller venues, and less venues to start with.

Ironically, I think the Dubai date will be a sell out - Gary had a big crowd when he played solo there. It's a real shame that more people won't get to see the tour. It's a great one and it's very unfortunate that they won't reach a wider audience. Their stint at the Apple festival showed that they're at the top of their game and still outshine much younger performers.

I don't know if the venue change was due to poor ticket sales. I'd like to think not. One of my friends had checked a while back the tickets for the Austrian concert and she told me most of the seats seemed taken. I don't know how to reconcile this with the venue change.

From what I understood, the new venue has a capacity of 4000 seats, which is decent, imo, considering TT have never had promotion in Austria.

They have to start from somewhere. 4000 fans this year could mean 6000-8000 fans for the next tour, that's how fanbases are created, through gigging.

@elisabeth: I think we've all discussed in the past that TT could gig smaller venues in the countries where they have not had promotion since their return. This means we were all aware of the fact that they can not fill everywhere the arenas they do in UK. How is Robbie relevant in this discussion, again I do know. He was ONCE part of TT, he no longer is, he and some of us have moved on. Maybe it's time his fans did too and stopped comparing Robbie to TT all the time.

dylandog is right. TT have proven with the Apple Music Festival why they are QUALITY artists.

TT have announced another gig in Dubai. More of an intimate gig though; held at the Hard Rock

First night of the European tour in Denmark last night.

Does anyone know if the set list changed? I think Gary said it would...

N.B. - looks like Portrait and the bike have been dropped from these shows!

good reviews so far in Germany where they performed in Hamburg last night in front of almost 10,000 people

I'm glad they're getting decent crowds, if not sell outs. There was some indication at the Danish concert that the production element had been down sized, but that might have been just that show.

I would defy anyone to stand up and say that TT don't, firstly, give value for money and secondly, put on an absolutely fantastic pop experience. They may not be everyone's cup of tea musically but they are a brilliant live group and it's sad that they're not more widely appreciated around the world.
