Thing about the Circus tour (Kath mentioned it before) was that it was much more joined up. Progress was great but at times it felt a little fragmented, with Robbie's material shoehorned in the middle of a TT concert

Ya the Robbie part felt out of place to me.

Oddly enough - for sis and myself - the best thing about the Progress Tour was the Robbie bit (apart from 'Angels' where I had to go for a loo-break - I can't help it - I detest that song). Both sis and I could finally see what all the fuss about Robbie is (although I don't think I could stomach a whole two hours of him) he certainly does have this thing called charisma - which only as a group Take That can muster.

Don't think I menrioned this here before, but this will be my first Take That tour. I did have tickets for Beautiful World, but I was too ill to go to it in the end. Literally can't get out of bed ill! :( Oh well!

Still no official news about European dates but I read in Swedish media that when a reporter interviewed TT in London last week they confirmed that they will tour in Sweden in September. No dates or other details were given. If it's true, I'm curious about which city they will visit and what kind of venue it will be. I got very surprised when I read these news, I never thought they would come here for this tour. But, will have to wait and see if it really happens ;)
They are announcing tour dates for Europe at the end of the month Apparently. Gary said on Twitter that they have only just finished the routing and mapping of venues. It'll be great for the European fans to see them without having to travel to the UK and Ire
Great news on the European news, i hope the tickets can sell decently when announced.

Appears that they are playing 5 nights in Germany at the start of October in Munich, Stuggart, Berlin, Hamburg and Koln.

Pretty impressive, hopefully when it's announced officially there will be a drive in album sales there

If the five nights is correct I'm a little shocked. I hope they haven't over estimated demand for tickets?

Perhaps they should have gone for two nights - Berlin and Hamburg, for example, and tested the water. Would hate for them to play to less than capacity crowds.

However I do hope they play some countries they haven't played before. They have a small but loyal following in the States and it would be lovely for those fans to see them even if it's a paired down show in a small venue. The same goes for South America - again a small but loyal fan base.

Would also be nice for other European countries to have some kind of show. Think they may play Dubai as Gary had a good turnout for his concert last year and he mentioned returning with Take That.

I have not expected them to tour Europe considering that the best position they achieved with the album was place 26 for one week in Germany. These days didn't even got that far. But I guess they don't care for the new songs and hope that people buy tickets because of the old songs. Aside of the Flood and Patience though TT new had not a single hit, in Germany, not even Rule the world charted well.

So it must be the show then? Nostalgia? Lionel Ritchie is doing shows too without a hit single for years in Germany, well, he is a bigger star than TT in some people's minds.

It will be interesting how many will pay money to pay for TT3.

On the other side, all three of them have to pay tax back (and no, they haven't) Gary up to 32 million. They have to keep it running with tours and albums.

I'd be very interested to know how you know their tax status? If they haven't paid back the money owed court proceedings would have been instigated - which hasn't happened as yet. As for facts - the tax issue related to four of them as their manager was involved. Gary's tax bill would be nowhere near 32 million!! To pay back that amount in tax he would have earned around 70 million in the past four years- more than his net worth. Take That have been successful the second time around, but not that successful!!!!

I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion Elisabeth. However, I strongly disagree with your inference that they're touring simply to pay off their tax bill. Whatever you think of them they are committed musicians and absolutely love music and performing.

I took it to mean the 32 million was between the four of them - with some owing a slightly greater share than others. You're wrong about Court proceedings so soon though - lawyers on both sides could all be arguing even now over this and it could never see the light of court. This isn't just in the case of TT - but all those other slime-balls who've done this kind of thing.

That's life though - one tax rule for the rich (or in this case no rule) and one rule for the rest of us mugs on PAYE.

32 million between the four sounds about right but I read Elisabeth's comment to mean 32 million in relation to Gary. Its possible that negotiations may still be ongoing on between TT and HMRC, but the fact remains if HMRC requested a certain amount and TT didn't comply there would be legal action; and to date there's been none. For all we know they could have paid up months and months ago.

Don't get me wrong Kath I abhor their decision to enter into a tax avoidance scheme and would never condone their actions. However they've been thrown under the bus by the press who have chosen to ignore the involvement of other well known celebs. The vitriol they've faced has been unacceptable in my opinion and to their credit they've remained dignified in the face of a sustain campaign against them.

In terms of the tour I hope fans around the world do get an opportunity to see them live and tickets sell well ( but I have my doubts) The truth is if we only went to see artists who met a certain ethical standard in terms of their public and private life tours would be few and far between !!

It hasn't done them any harm though has it? I mean - the tour is still a sell-out and they keep getting invited on all the 'top' chat shows - so it hasn't damaged them at all.

I agree that they did seem to be being singularly picked out - this time. Remember when this first came out a few years back - it was Jimmy Carr who was thrown under the bus while Cameron, etc did their best to protect Barlow. But you're right - they're not the only ones.

There was an article about some months ago in the Times about the tax avoidance schemes and they mentioned TT aside of others and they said that it is 35 million and 32 of them are of GB and that it is not paid back yet but they discuss about the how. I have no idea if this is true, but even if you consider GB worth 70 million it would be half of his fortune. Guess we would need to pay 100,000 pounds all of a sudden from our money. They need to tour, bring out another album and tour again and that is what they will do.

They are still invited to the top shows including the Brits. But I think the General public is bored of them. They sold around 450,000 tickets for the tour in Britain, exactly that many as they sold albums. Compare the Circus (not Progress, this was different). Even if you consider that album sales hit the bottom with such a loyal fan base TT had and the enormous sympathies with the General Public after the ITV docu 2005 when they came back, this is nothing.

And they really did all the promo possible from wedding singers to all shows they could attend.

Now have a look at the usual TT (and Robbie)friendly countries like NL, I, GE and DE.

They really charted nowhere with both single and album. As I said, one week no 26 for the album in Germany was the best spot.

I wish every hardcore TT fan to see them. But like Robbie fans fly to Britain to see him, TT fans will do the same.

Even if you expect that they count on people who want to see and hear their old songs, they have to shift 65,000 tickets in Germany with no hit album since their first time around except Progress and being ridiculed during the Progress tour as background singers of Robbie in Germany and all European countries. This is no bashing but a fact. So I am wondering, if they are desperate, hopeful or maybe have indications that people will buy tickets which are possibly cheap???

It will be interesting to see. I wish them well.

Elisabeth, do feel free to post something positive at some point...

I agree!

Why bother to keep coming on here to post if you just want to belittle every achievement and diss them at every opportunity? <_<

European dates have been announced. They are visiting Germany, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy and Holland!

More dates for gigs in Dubai etc are expected soon

As I suspected, no concert in Sweden. I guess someone made the usual mistake and mixed up Sweden and Switzerland
