September 12, 200618 yr Dont go!!! it's pants. get the original instead http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16654 at the beginning (and i wont be spoiling it for you as it's obvious) you wished the truck had just run over Cage and ended the film right there. its that bad. well maybe thats a scene for the scary movie folk
September 12, 200618 yr Garbage, and I usually like Neil Labute films ("Your Friends and Neighbours" and "In The Company of Men" were both excellent), but this is just pretty rubbish.... It does have two or three references to the original - the character Nic Cage plays is called Edward, the girl's name is Rowan Woodward (reference to actor Edward Woodward who played the main character from the original), also look out for a picture of Edward Woodward in the police station where Nic Cage works bearing the legend "Missing". I actually laughed out in the cinema when I saw that, only to discover that I was the only one laughing, no one else got the joke. Bunch of thick c/unts who go to see films these days..... -_-

Central Station and the Motorcycle Diaries were brilliant, and i liked the original Japanese version of Dark Water too. but the remake just didnt grab me http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/1/12/Central-do-brasil-poster04.jpg liked The Shape of Things by labute too

September 16, 200618 yr I was gonna see it because the adverts on buses looked top. But haven't got money or time, so am gonna buy DVD when it comes out. Don't waste your money, it's pish, the only reason I went to see it is that I've got one of these monthly unlimited card things... A few months back one of the newspapers (The Guardian I think..) gave away the original film for free, I imagine in a few years time some paper doing the same thing with the remake..... Download it for free if you can, but on no account actually waste your hard earned dosh buying this rubbish on DVD....
September 16, 200618 yr I saw this last week and quite liked it, nothing amazing though. Then again, I haven't seen the original so I can't compare.
September 16, 200618 yr I've got the original on video, but I've never got round to watching it. Had it for ages now!
September 17, 200618 yr Watch your video of the original film and save your money for something else. I saw the new one on Friday and was bored rigid. I nearly twisted the hair off my head.
