Omg yes Timber, an absolutely huge guilty pleasure. That chorus is undeniable and one of the strongest pop choruses I've heard in a long time. Loved it from the first time I heard it and still do, Pitbull is actually decent in it too *-*

A section of big hits now, including two songs that I initially thought would at least be top 20 this year! :o Paloma Faith and Jake Bugg were engaged in a huge chart battle with Shakira/Rihanna and Lily Allen for two weeks in a row (they all ended up being non-movers in the second week lol), meaning Hunter Hayes fell 1-5 with I Want Crazy due to three huge new entries and Jake Bugg climbing high. Paloma's Pharrell-produced track did not disappoint me like it did for others but she has a better song still to come. A Song About Love was a song I decided to randomly check out and it surprised me, in a good way, first Jake Bugg song I really liked and it completely converted me into a fan of his. Amazing track and definitely my favourite of his. Shangri La was also a #1 album. :lol: Quite the u-turn! Also in this section is Lauren Aquilina at #45, a former BJSC entrant of mine. Lovers or Liars is my favourite of hers to date, and has given her an upward trajectory in my chart, going 10-6-1 with her promoted EP tracks to date. Elyar Fox makes his first appearance of two at #42, fantastic pop track and deserved more than the #7 peak! Finally, another former BJSC entrant from Ulrik Munther and his most recent track. I was a bit unsure of what to expect when I heard he was doing a Swedish album, because I've always enjoyed his lyrics as well as the songs as a whole, but this didn't let me down at all. And gosh he's even hotter now than he used to be.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Can't rely on you is amazing and one of Paloma's best ever songs :wub:

And a least there is no screech of me in this section as I described it perfectly in my worst songs of the year countdown :)

Slowing things down now as we get into the top 40 and I have more to say about each track. :lol: 5SOS are up at #40, with their second single Don't Stop. It was a bit of a slow burner for me but eventually found its way into the top 3 in my chart (they're yet to have a #1 in my chart, their singles have gone 5-3-2-3 in release order!). Don't Stop's an incredibly infectious track and if it were more instant, it would've been a surefire #1 contender. They still have two songs left to show up. Lily Allen's Lead Balloon is up now, another song engaged in the HUGE chart battle in January this year, losing out to Shakira for two weeks! Air Balloon had a very lengthy chart run for me, quite impressive really. Says a lot that a song far from her best can have such a run and still end up top 40 here! Lily has one more song to come.

 

(no recommendation here as I'm sure you all know these songs lol)

'air balloon' really took me aback, a stunning song, the middle 8 into the last chorus!!!

I think it's a brilliant track but gosh it was a terrible single choice, doesn't sound like a hit at all :(

I wish I could say I like these last few tracks, but alas, no.

Air balloon is amazing and a great track by Liky but it should have been an album track or the 2nd post single in my view

Don't stop is 5SOS best for me, so so catchy :wub:
