Posted September 12, 200619 yr Scissor Sisters retain lead on singles chart Source: Music Week Scissor Sisters look to extend their reign atop the singles chart this weekend, after early retail reports suggest I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’ is comfortably outselling Justin Timberlake’s SexyBack despite witnessing a significant week-on-week sales drop. Timberlake will settle for the number two spot, although his new album Futuresex/Lovesounds (Jive) is certain to enter at number one after its release yesterday. Despite entering lower than expected last week, Robbie Williams’ Rudebox could climb into the Top Three on Sunday, while Fergie’s London Bridge (A&M) will rise into the Top Five after getting physically released yesterday. The Killers When You Were Young (Mercury) looks set to repeat Scissor Sisters’ recent feat of breaking into the Top 10 solely on downloads, while Embrace also look set to enter high, albeit on download and physical formats, with Target (Independiente). Jamelia’s Something About You also looks destined to rise into the Top 10. In the albums market, Justin Timberlake spearheads a trio of high new entries, with The Fratellis (Fallout) and Lemar (RCA/White Rabbit) heading up the Top Three. A wealth of new entries in the chart include The Mars Volta (Universal), Lionel Richie (Def Jam), Diana Krall (Verve), Kelis (Virgin) and Mastodon (Reprise). ======================================================= -Wednesday Update- Singles 01 Scissor Sisters - I Don't Feel Like Dancin' 02 The Killers - When We Were Young [Downloads] 03 Justin Timberlake - SexyBack Top 5 Fergie - London Bridge [Climber] Top 15 Jamelia - Something About You [Climber] Top 30 Embrace - Target {New Entry] Lostprophets - A Town Called Hypocrisy [Climber] Daniel O'Donnell - Crush On You [New Entry] Top 40 Larrikin Love - Happy As Annie [Climber] Guillemots - Train To Brazil [Climber] Bedouin Soundclash - When The Night Feels My Song [Climber] Top 50 Cherish feat. September 12, 200619 yr It better come before I have to go college  Erm no change possibly in the top 3 with Fergie and Jamelia top 5. I think Woolworths were pretty spot on this week with their predictions. Lost Prophets top 10 I hope and erm Timberskank in the albums.
September 12, 200619 yr 1 Scissors 2 Justin 3 Fergie 4 Nelly 5 Jamelia Albums : 1 Justin 2 Snow Patrol 3 Lemar
September 12, 200619 yr The Mids today will look something like: 1. Scissors 2. Justin Timberlake 3. Fergie 4. Nelly 5. Jamelia Fergie may take JT, and Jamelia may drop to No.6 or No.7 by the end of the week though. In the albums: 1. Justin Timberlake 2. Fratellis 3. Snow Patrol 4. The Feeling 5. Muse Fratellis will be behind SP by Sunday though, and The Feeling and Muse may fall behind Lemar. I can see Beyonce dropping out of the top ten completely! :D
September 12, 200619 yr Author I really want The Fratellis to take the #1 spot, but that is not going to happen with JT around. SS will secure another week at #1, Killers should be top 10 on downloads. And I echo Hagueys top 5 prediction
September 12, 200619 yr The most interesting thing with this week's charts is going to be where The Killers finish up on downloads only. I reckon they could be between #4 & #7. I think Fergie can go Top3, with Jamelia just failing to make the top5.
September 12, 200619 yr The biggest surprise is with Robbie climbing. I thought it would have dropped to #8 - #10 mark. :o
September 12, 200619 yr quite odd for Robbie I do say  -_- Embrace will fall - Jamelia will rise - just hope Lostprophets aren't too low - they shouldn't be as they scored 4 top 20 singles from their last album...
September 12, 200619 yr The biggest surprise is with Robbie climbing. I thought it would have dropped to #8 - #10 mark. :o And i'm suprised with the Killers being top 10 on downloads alone. This means they are certain to knock Scissors off the top spot the following week :(
September 12, 200619 yr Author Its only a top 10 update for the singles, there seem to be a few artists missing, Lostprophets, Lupe Fiasco
September 12, 200619 yr Yeah, surprised at Robbie climbing. Not many other surprises this week though. It was clear that Justin would be the number one album and that Fergie would sadly get in the top 5. Just thankful it isn't number one.
September 12, 200619 yr I'm not surprised about Robbie, although he could go back to no4 by sunday, his show was shown live on tv over the weekend, maybe Newt will have to eat humble pie. Any idea where Snow Patrol are in both charts please?
September 12, 200619 yr And i'm suprised with the Killers being top 10 on downloads alone. This means they are certain to knock Scissors off the top spot the following week :( Hope they don't, don't like the song at all! :puke2:
September 12, 200619 yr I dont get why everyone likes the killers song- Persoanlly I think its vile. No surprise that Scissor Sisters are no.1 still, I think Ferge might take Robbie and Justin though.
September 12, 200619 yr wow! a slow but quite interesting set of midweeks! i would have definetly thought nelly furtado would have held off robbie! :( Methinks it will get closer by the end of the week between JT and SS, with less than 5k between them. i feel killers will have more of an impact on downloads then physical sales and if it does get to no1, it may only sell 30k next week. :arrr:
September 12, 200619 yr I thought Jamelia - [something About You] would do alot better than this, there seemed to be so much hype around it on the net.
September 12, 200619 yr I thought Jamelia - [something About You] would do alot better than this, there seemed to be so much hype around it on the net. Me too. I like the song. Although it does have a bit of a "Sugababes album track that samples Natalie Imbruglia's Torn" vibe to it. It's still her highest charting "first single from an album" to date though. I Do, the first single from Drama, only got to #32, and 'Bout, the first single from Thank You, only got to #37. There seems to be more hype around her follow-up single Beware Of The Dog now. If it repeats the pattern of her previous albums the second single will be the biggest hit from it.
