December 5, 201410 yr Author 09. Bars & Melody - Hopeful 5-31-54-x (3 weeks) 57 points wT3RhIJZu4k Absolutely awful :/ Tries to be an inspiring song but the rapping is so off-putting and the lyrics are cringe. It seems like they're this year's Gabz so I'm "hopeful" that means they don't get a 2nd hit single.
December 5, 201410 yr YAY at the good songs of the top 10 dropping out at the lower end :D Elyar soon please ~
December 5, 201410 yr Author 08. Chris Brown feat. Simply awful, and if everyone was voting on the basis of lack of song quality rather than the songs that annoyed them the most this year, this would easily come out on top. Glad it missed the top 40 anyway although that was down to a mix of its lack of streaming and it being taken off sale towards the end of the week.
December 5, 201410 yr Author 06. The Chainsmokers - #SELFIE 42-17-11-13-16-21-25-27-36-43-64-66-x (12 weeks) 72 points kdemFfbS5H0 Finishing off the first half of the top 10 is the year's token novelty dance hit - #SELFIE. A guilty pleasure for me anyhow but not all of you feel the same, with the generic dance beat which sounds a lot like PSY's Gentleman, and then there's those vocals  Was amazing seeing this in the chart and Buzzjack's general reaction to it, good to see it's not top 5 considering how much hate it got. Tomorrow, the order of top 5 is revealed: Top 5 Elyar Fox - A Billion GirlsEnrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull - I'm a FreakIdina Menzel - Let It GoJason Derulo feat. Snoop Dogg - Wigglewill.i.am feat. Cody Wise - It's My Birthday
December 5, 201410 yr :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson: :manson: That's my reaction to Idina being above ALL of the last three :/
December 6, 201410 yr Oh no 'Wiggle' and 'Let it Go' in the top 5 :( The other 3 are horrors so they must be the final 3. justice4wiggle&letitgo:(
December 6, 201410 yr I'm pleased that #SELFIE is not top 5. It was number 1 in my personla chart this year. That horrendous 'It's My Birthday' to win this Hate Chart PLEASE! <_<
December 6, 201410 yr Idina top 5 :( :( All of me should be 9 places higher and the rest are all rackets apart from the quite nice hopeful
December 6, 201410 yr I wouldn't really compare Ed with Ben Howard and James Vincent McMorrow, his music is much more pop-oriented whereas the other two are more folk/indie-folk (Ed's music does have some folk influences but not really enough to put him in the same category as them). That said I'm not really sure who I would compare Ed to. I think that could explain his success really as he sort of has the currently popular indie-folk sound but puts a much more radio-friendly / wide appealing spin on it. Or something. Yeah all valid points :) I guess it's that pop-orientation that throws me off a little. I also think he's stronger when he's not doing his slow acoustic ballad style perhaps because it tends to be a bit more risky and different
December 6, 201410 yr Yeah all valid points :) I guess it's that pop-orientation that throws me off a little. I also think he's stronger when he's not doing his slow acoustic ballad style perhaps because it tends to be a bit more risky and different I agree with that, my favourite Ed Sheeran singles are You Need Me, I Don't Need You and Sing - both a departure from his signature ballad sound. Thinking Out Loud is the type of song most people expect from Ed Sheeran. He is probably the biggest crossover star in the UK atm. Pop fans love him, older and younger people love him and even Hip Hop/grime fans like him due to his collabs with almost everyone associated with the UK scene (even working The Game in the US ) As with any successful artist there'll be haters, but who else has the mass appeal Ed Sheeran currently has?
December 6, 201410 yr That's my reaction to Idina being above ALL of the last three :/ Agree 100% :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: . However, I'm pleased that I'm A Freak, Wiggle and It's My Birthday are in the top 5, and I was expecting Let It Go to be unfairly high  , so I'm not disappointed. -_-
December 6, 201410 yr Some good songs in the top 5, but surprised #SELFIE isn't higher (though I love the beat but lyrics/voice annoying as fug). Wiggle no surprises  Hope Birthday comes out sooner than later.
December 6, 201410 yr Most likely top 5 outcome: will.i.am feat. Cody Wise - It's My Birthday Jason Derulo feat. Snoop Dogg - Wiggle (because chart performance it is #2) Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull - I'm a Freak Elyar Fox - A Billion Girls (spent barely any weeks in top 100) Idina Menzel - Let It Go (some like it) My ranking: Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull - I'm a Freak (best) will.i.am feat. Cody Wise - It's My Birthday Jason Derulo feat. Snoop Dogg - Wiggle Idina Menzel - Let It Go Elyar Fox - A Billion Girls
December 6, 201410 yr A Billion Girls surely has to win this. By a marathon the worst song remaining. Awful lyrics, horrendous vocals, there is literally not one redeeming feature about it other than the fact we were only subject to it for one week. Of the others I don't particularly like It's My Birthday. I'm A Freak is pretty average. Wiggle is excellent :D
December 6, 201410 yr Enrique Iglesias feat. Pitbull - I'm a Freak (A bit of a guilty pleasure for me, but I recognise its obvious shitness. Also it shouldn't have beaten Kylie that week) Jason Derulo feat. Snoop Dogg - Wiggle (By some distance the worst song of the year :puke:) will.i.am feat. Cody Wise - It's My Birthday (and this is the second worst :puke:) Idina Menzel - Let It Go (I don't really have an opinion on this, I pretty much ignore it) Elyar Fox - A Billion Girls (Yeah, absolutely horrendous. Like someone said above there is nothing good about this at all)
December 6, 201410 yr Nice to see some widespread opinions! :D I like to try to see why anyone would hate a song I like, or vice versa, if I can't, they're a troll :kink:
