Well your right there are some really poor 15 horror films like The Amytivile (sp?) Horror which I watched a month or two back on Sky Movies and I found it so dull and all over the place. I don't know why but I like the 15 rated horror films though, however corney they may be.

I'm 15. I began watching the 15 rating films at 14. Come to think of it I think i've only ever seen about four 18 rated films. :o

Oh i'm positive Jack will be around in #3. It wouldn't be the same without Jack and there sailing with the bad guy from the first one to get Jack back from the other side of the world.

Oh so no wonder you like 15's, you're at the right age. I'm 17 next month. ^_^

Yeah. It wouldn't be the same. Did they actually kill him off at the end of no.2?

Not all '15' rated Horror films are c**p (hasn't the original "Halloween" film been re-classified a '15' recently...?), I thought "Silent Hill" was a pretty creditable horror film - and certainly the best film by far to be made from a video game - , the "Ringu" films are all '15' certs as well, as is "Ju-On"; in fact, most of these excellent J-Horror or Korean Horror films are '15' certificates, so really, your hypothesis is pretty shaky there Royston....

To be honest, I think seeing Samara's face in "The Ring" really blows it for me, just makes her look like a widdle gurl with a blue tint, not scary; compare it to the original when all you see is Sadako's horrific, dead black pit of an eye peering out of her mane of black hair - real goosebumps time..... :o

And I'm pretty damned sure Jigsaw snuffed it in Saw 2 as well.... I kinda thought the whole point was for him to die and to pass on the torch to Amanda.....

I don't watch korean films lol. And my Halloween's an 18.

You should, if you're pissed off with the current lame crop of US horror the Korean and Japanese horror market is a real fertile field of seriously good films. Just go onto Tartan's website to give you some ideas...

I agree with you about Silent Hill. I watched it last weekend with a few mates and well although I haven't played the game one of my mates had and he said it was fairly accurate to how the game planned out. I just lost the plot a bit as I got a tad distracted whilst watching it. :( The ending is surprising though. ^_^

Are the films subtitled?

Is there gonna be another Silent Hill?

As it didn't do too well at the box office....

Well, apart from the fact that the main character has a sex change in translation from game to film...., but I can see the reason for it, the film is concentrating on themes of transgressive motherhood, you cant really do that if they use a male character as the main protagonist. The plot itself is pretty true to the game though, although the film does make the Dahlia Gillespie character appear a lot more sympathetic than she is in the game...

If they do a sequel, I hope they bring in the whole "Walter Sullivan" story arc (ask your gameplaying mate...)

Of course, Tartan is an Art-film distributor who specialize in foreign language films and US/UK Indie films (proper Indie films mind, none of this 'pretend Indie film' malarkay...), they dont do dubbing. Thank fukk.....

Ok. I'll have a search tommorow.

Apparently in the original script there was only female characters, then to balance it out they introduced the Dad aka Sean Penn

Yeah, I heard that too, and you got your Seans mixed up mate, it's Sean Bean......

I have to admit, I saw the whole plotline with him and the cop (Kim Coates) searching the 'real-time' town as a total irrelevance to be honest and just tacked on...

Same difference

And what a dodgy American accent he has

I didn't see it at first, although it made more sense as with the cop's group the atmosphere was either pitch black with sirens or snowing ashes

With Sean BEAN it was just normal....

Ok, I've gone on a website and chose the genre horror and this page came up. http://www.tartanvideo.com/ht_search_resul...ID=2&G=6&page=1 Is this what you meant? Some don't appear to be Japanese/Korean.

You're in the general Tartan Horror section, which includes a lot of Non-Korean/Japanese films. If you click onto the Asia Extreme link that'll take you into Taran's Asian film section which includes all the horrors plus non-Horror stuff like "Battle Royale", "In The Mood For Love", etc..... You'll probably be better off just in the Horror section really

Ok thanks! I'll have a look.
