January 5, 201510 yr Thanks for all the comments, promise I will reply tomorrow :) Along with the points chart, I might do an alternative #1's as well Time to go and watch Waterloo road and broardchurch now :) What are ?
January 9, 201510 yr Author Finally replying to all comments, sorry for delay :) wait what you've done loads! glad to see timber and giant in my heart all here, both fantastic singles. one very trashy but fun and the other just a great dance tune. black widow is fantastic too, iggy's favourite of mine although i know you don't share the same opinion. the chorus is so slick and i think rita actually outshines iggy. wildest dreams is really lovely, definitely needs to be a single soon. maybe fourth or fifth. want everyone to hear it on the radio and love it like us if i could change your mind is such a perfect summer single, never fails to put me in a good mood. Thanks Jsilv  I know, it went really quickly :o I probably also prefer Rita on Black Widow and yay for you loving quite a lot of those songs Really hope Wildest Dreams becomes a singles, definitely up there with her best. Just to let you know, it is also now a million seller here  Would a Let It Go-Shake It Off-Blank Space top 3 in that order with sales of over 2 million for them all be too extreme a guess :magic: (Actually liking quite a lot of this so far, great to see Changes, Eez-eh, West Coast, Chandelier, If I Could Change Your Mind and The Hanging Tree in here, all wonderful (for quite different reasons), and Video Games is ofc. glorious ) Thanks FrostyTheWallaby  If you replace Blank Space with Ghost then you were completely correct about order and sales  Also great to see you liking some of the songs here  oh we're doing predictions, here you are! 01. The winner [Riser] will get a special treat which i'll PM you about along with the person who has commented the most in this thread :) Jsilv: 3/15 Riser: 5/15 Math: 4/12 wow that is a lot lower than i expected, definitely one of my favourite frozen songs. absolutely adorable and works so well in the context of the film! Thanks Jsilv  I am surprised that people are shocked at it being so low [though it was #10 on the 2nd last week of the year before falling to #12 as Blank Space climbed above it and Fancy sold enough to stay in #11]. I also agree it works so well in the film  i BLOODY LOVE 'air balloon' and seeing it on your chart has made me realise i didn't chart it in my own YTD and therefore the entire thing is a sham :( Thanks ░░░░ Air Balloon is great and I wish it deserved to be a big hit, glad to see you love it  Bang Bang  Sirens did rather terrible in the chart. Deserved MUCH better  Budapest is good :) Break The Rules and Home deserved more too! CSL didn't really go for me either  Overall your chart is awesome and no doubt will be: Shake LIG Blank Space (Please LIG not #1 :please:) #Fancy :music:  So you like rap if it's female? :P  I am still upset about that Sirens peak and glad to see you liking quite a lot of the songs here. You got Shake + LIG correct but LIG was top :kink: I normally prefer rap music if it is female but I do find most of it awful regardless of gender :)
January 9, 201510 yr You got Shake + LIG correct but LIG was top :kink: I didn't know you based your chart by weekly chart performance. Elsa I would've put LIG at the top
January 9, 201510 yr Author Great song :D Human is powerful :D Bass is good but still getting used to it  Blank Space is surprisingly low for you :o was expecting it top 5 at least  How long was your chart when Human ended at #14? Great song but performed chartwise rather dull :nocheer: Got into it a bit late but perhaps will appear in top 200 on recompilation (coming end of Jan sometime :P) Ella really shows off her talent in Ghost (and Glow). I hope she continues her success in 2015 (even though I thought she would be a 1 hit wonder :o) Fingers crossed Shake It Off is #1. I have a VERY big gap between them :o :please: Do you want to score each others top 40 tracks out of 10 or something and then make a combined chart of our top 40s? :D Thanks Spinning Adam for these comments  Blank Space is only probably so low because of the late year release, it will be #2 [LIG is 2013] or possibly #3 in the biggest sellers released in 2014 when it has wrapped up its run. It was a top 20 when Human finished its run :) I am still so glad The Veronicas managed another top 10 though  I hope Ella continues her success also, she is so amazing  Maybe score each others but at a later date :) only love can hurt like this is a lovely ballad, her vocals really shine on it. i think this style of song suits her best so i'm glad she's gone down the same route with leave while im not looking. fancy is so catchy too, both the chorus and raps are very strong. i prefer both boom clap and black widow from each artist though. Thanks Jsilv  I so agree, I only prefer New York [and only just] of her music and her vocals are amazing  So agree about Fancy also, definitely one of the most catchiest songs this year. I adore BC + BW but Fancy is way better than both for me :) Flawless top 10 so far, OLCHLT is gorgeous and probably Paloma's best to date <3 Fab to see The Band Perry too, as I said it's a favourite of mine  Flop Blank Space stan tho, it's higher in mine :smoke: (spoilersss) Thanks Liam  OLCHLT is definitely one of my Paloma favourites and glad you like The Band Perry here  See the reply to one of Spinning Adam's comments in this post about Blank Space :) But a Flop Taylor Stan doesn't have 6 Taylor songs in their latest weekly chart :kink: All of your last set is fabulous! I agree that 'Sheezus' wasn't QUITE as good as 'It's Not Me, It's You' but still a very, very good album. And of course I'm a sucker for everything related to Frozen and The Veronicas so nice to see both of those so high up  3. Ghost 2. Shake It Off 1. Let t Go Thanks Math and a great set of predictions  I also really like Sheezus and great to see you loving Frozen + Veronicas :cheer:
January 9, 201510 yr Thanks for replying ;) I know it can often be more work to reply to comments than make them! :kink:
January 9, 201510 yr Author Want? Shake It Off. Slow burner for me but really getting to like it  Expect? Let It Go. I think it was #1 for ages on your chart :o Not struck on it really but is still in my top 254. And I'm male so not really that surprising  I really admire your passion in your charts UV  And of course your comments on mine and others :cheer: #2 is still good :) Taylor's outfit makes her very pretty in cheerleader so probably my fave too :D That thumbnail though :o  A quick question (sorry) what is the theory behind what things have 'sold' in relation to your chart? It can't surely be plays? :o Poor Let It Go so high in the Hate Chart though :o  I know it's HIGHLY overrated on the chart but THIS is unacceptable :( :nono: People shouldn't just hate a song mostly on that reason :P Thanks Spinning Adam  Shake It Off seems to be a slow burner for a lot of people here :o It hit me instantly on 1st listen though  Let It Go has spent the 2nd longest ever time at #1 in my charts Thanks about the passion and comments comment and it was a shame to see LIG that high on the hate chart [but at least it wasn't 1] :) I do weekly sales which are added to the end of year charts each week which is how my chart is compiled  Hey Ultraviolence I missed out on all this today so I'll do an extended comment 1. Don’t- Ed Sheeran 15,010 30-X Great countdown :) Thanks Entea  I thought I saw Rumour in your weekly charts and yay for it there as I love it. It charted here in March 2014 though :o Happy to see Let It Go doing so well, those sales are huge! I love the big belt note at the end, the song is so magical and definitely one of the best disney songs ever. West Coast is nice too, I did get a bit sick of it but I did really like it. It's quite a weird song really, sounds like two completely different ones. For The First Time In Forever and Love Is An Open Door are the only disney songs I dislike in Frozen, both are just monstrosities. FTFTIF reprise is amazing though, Idina slays it once again and the song is just a lot stronger. Fantastic countdown, really enjoyed it :cheer: Thanks Jsilv  I know, it is mad. I think it is now the 2nd biggest selling song ever here and I agree with everything you said about it  I love the combination of the two styles in WC but LIAOD and especially FTFTIF are marvellous :( Let it Go at #1. What a surprise :P glad Taylor is runner up I suspect she could be your year end #1 for 2015 though :) Thanks Robert  I don't think she will be #1 in YE singles in 2015 unless one of the upcoming singles really take off but I do think she has a very good chance at the albums [probably her, Adele or Lana's 3rd are the only contenders yet]
January 9, 201510 yr Author Wow, I would have thought choosing between 'Let It Go' and 'Shake It Off' would have been impossible for you but glad to read there was an outright winner and it didn't cause you too much distress! Also great to see 'West Coast' do so well as it's a real gem and pretty underrated I feel. Apologies for not commenting until now - I've been following the thread and can't get over how much thought, creativity and passion was put into it! Really enjoyable countdowns, games etc. so very well done! Thanks Noahspike  Glad to see you liking the songs and as much as I love shake it off, Let It Go is just on another level to nearly every other song ever for me :) Don't worry about not commenting till then and thanks very much  Those sales for Let It Go *.* I do think that top 2 is fully worthy, they're both great songs, Shake it Off marked a real turnaround for Taylor that was continued with Blank Space. Let It Go I only loved since seeing Frozen, makes so much more sense and feels so much better knowing the context of it. It's lovely to see you put so much work into your own chart and put effort into reading and commenting on everyone else's too. Great job! Thanks Wauldlangsynaby  I have always loved Taylor but SIO is definitely my 2nd favourite ever Taylor song and again I loved Let It Go the 1st couple of times I heard it but then I saw the film a couple of days later and it became one of my favourites songs ever instantly, it just works so perfectly in the film  Thanks about the work and effort comment  I 100% agree on Chapter One. In my opinion, one of the best albums I have ever heard. Exactly, people should hate a song on the basis of quality. When I heard the UKIP Calypso, I thought to myself that if Nigel Farage wants to be the country's next prime minister, making an awful ''song'' is not the way to get yourself votes. To think people actually bought that song is scary. Thanks Taylor Jago  Not one of my favourite albums ever but I do absolutely adore it  And UKIP Calypso is abominable :puke2: Looking forward to Chapter Two? :P It's also criticism on fast falling tracks on the charts too :drama: :nono: Hadn't they already had enough flopping on the charts without people hating them too? Thanks Spinning Adam  I can't wait for her next album  What I predicted: 1 Idina Menzel- Let It Go 2 Ella Henderson- Ghost 3 Taylor Swift- Shake It Off 4 Lana Del Rey- West Coast 5 Kristen Bell- Do You Want To Build A Snowman 6 Iggy Azalea Ft Charli XCX- Fancy 7 Kristen Bell Ft Idina Menzel- For The First Time In Forever 8 Taylor Swift- Blank Space 9 Christina Perri- Human 10 Paloma Faith- Only Love Can Hurt Like This 11 Meghan Trainor- All About That Bass 12 G.R.L- Ugly Heart 13 The Band Perry- If I Die Young my favorite song in your top 15  14 The Veronicas- You Ruin Me 15 Lily Allen- Hard Out Here was revealed before I predicted Yay got 4 right. I should've guessed Taylor was #2 but I remember you calling Ghost the 2nd best song of the year...and I forgot Let It Go is from 2013 so it's not the best song of this year, and Shake It Off is? Or maybe I'm making all of this up :P Anyway, this was great. Amazing that The Black Keys and Foster The People made the albums top 40! Thanks Riser  Glad to see you love IIDY and the albums and you are right that I called Ghost the 2nd best song this year as Let It Go is from 2013 for me :) Just seen this, a great top 7, I rather like all of those, never thought Human would be that high for you <3 Oh and I really share your love for West Coast, You Ruin Me and Let It Go especially, very glad to see the latter triumph, although I was under very few illusions that it wouldn't. :P Thanks Ice  I really loved Human before I started posting on here and I think it was on its way out when I joined. It spent so many weeks at #2 and I just find it so beautiful and its great to see you love WC, YRM and LIG  Great to see 'Human' in the top 10, still an incredible song! Thanks Calum Hood  Definitely agree about Human, it is so stunning  Slay Let It Go <3 And fab to see Human, Ghost, Shake It Off, Blank Space, All About That Bass and You Ruin Me so high. West Coast and the two non LIG Frozen songs are the only ones in your top 20 I don't like in fact! And one of your top 10 songs is in the same position on my EOY :o Thanks Liam  Glad to see you loved the top 10 and I wonder what song will have matching positions in our charts  I have to admit that I like/love the majority of the songs in your chart. Great List! Go on SINGLES IN FULL 51. Learning To Fly- Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers 431,320 20-9-11-16-X (From the soundtrack of "Elizabethtown?) 67. We Built This City- Starships 328,260 PEAKED AT 7 IN 2014 (It's awesome to have an old song in your chart) 80. My Heart Will Go On- Celine Dion 283,110 PEAKED AT 3 IN 2014 (I'm a big fan of Celine and I'm so glad that you have one of her greatest songs in your chart) 108. Blue Jeans- Lana Del Rey 170,220 9-6-14 (This is a classic song. It could be a great soundtrack for a Tarantino's movie) Thanks Insomnio  I don't know if Learning To Fly was on the soundtrack but the only reason it re-entered my charts was because it was on the trailer to Elizabethtown :) I love we built this city and glad to see you liking Celine here  Blue Jeans could really work very well for a Tarantino movie thinking about it, hopefully Lana does a song for a Tarantino movie  [and considering how many movie soundtracks she has already contributed to, it could happen hopefully ]
January 9, 201510 yr Author Hey UV! :cheer: Very happy with Idina being number 1 (just watched Frozen there haha) Fantastic countdown too :) Thanks Cameron  Yay for another lover of Idina  What are ? I should have called it Non Number 1's It is similar to Gezza's thread somewhere in the UK Charts forum and uses a format that 3 weeks sales are combined into #1 so a song could be classed as a non #1 if they didn't sell well at #1 or if they were up against a bigger hit. This is just for fun and doesn't change their official peak in my chart :) The points chart should be posted tomorrow hopefully, I have done most of it and I will post it all in one go :)

January 11, 201510 yr Do you work out your points like this: Say your charts were a top 40 (I think they are ) For each week for a track at #1 would be 40 points and a #40 would be 1 point. Example: Run: 15-20-13-27-39>5 weeks Points: 26-21-28-14-2>91 points Is this along the lines of how you calculate the points?
