Posted September 13, 200618 yr IFPI awards platinum sellers Source: Music Week Keane's second album Under The Iron Sea has picked up its first Platinum Europe Award from the IFPI for having surpassed the 1m sales mark. Other acts to have picked up IFPI sales awards this quarter include Shakira with Fijacion Oral Vol 1 and Oral Fixation Vol 2 which have both crossed the million threshold. Both albums were released in 2005. Meanwhile, Coldplay’s debut album Parachutes has now sold over 4m copies across Europe, bringing the group’s tally of Platinum Europe Awards to 12, as all three of their studio albums have sold in excess off 4m in Europe. Madonna's latest album Confessions On A Dancefloor also gains its fourth Platinum Europe Award since its release last November.
