Wide open competition for the 5th Round - my outside tip is Crystal Palace atm, not many would want to play them or West Brom.

Palace are in great form, but not sure how long it will last. That said I wouldn't want to play them at Selhurst Park, not with the past 2 results in mind as a Liverpool fan  Pardew is doing a great job there that's for sure.

How many people predicted the result when Chelsea went 2-0 up yesterday?

What did people think of the two handball claims in the Brighton v Arsenal game? I was a but surprised at the comments on MOTD (I'm watching about 20 minutes behind). They said that the Arsenal claim was better than the Brighton one. I disagree. The ball hit the Brighton defender on the upper arm. If his arms had been at his side, it would still have hit his upper arm. Therefore, given the short distance the ball travelled, no penalty.

OTOH, the ball hit the Arsenal defender well down his arm and his arm was held well away from his side. A few years ago, it would not have been a penalty because of the short distance between the players. I would have agreed with that decision. However, these days the distance doesn't seem to matter so much if the arm is held away from the body. Phil Parkinson's point was nonsense. He said it wasn't a penalty but that it should have been given if it had been on the goal line. If it would have been a penalty in one part of the box, it should have been a penalty anywhere in the box.

Logically, neither of them should have been penalties. However, under the laws as they are applied today, Brighton had a reasonable (not cast iron) claim.

Fair point.

That Chelsea Bradford result was one of the biggest FA Cup shocks EVER. Almost a once a decade result and certainly the biggest I can remember.

It was an even bigger shock with the 2-0 lead. Apparently, Mourinho has never lost a game after taking a 2-0 lead.

Potential shocks:

Birmingham beating West Brom.

Can't see there being any shocks. Although I hope I'm proved wrong.

How wrong was I?

Bradford beating Chelsea definitely the greatest FA Cup shock in the 21st century and in a very long time. Fantastic results for Middlesborough, Crystal Palace, Blackburn and Leicester.

Isn't the first time that the Top 3 teams of the Premier League have all been knocked out of the FA Cup in the same day?

The fifth-round draw will be on "The One Show" tonight at 7pm.

Oh dear!

Definitely not the draw I wanted! Got to get through the replay first anyway.

I think Liverpool will get through both matches anyway.

Hope so. I think we will beat Palace quite comfortably if we get through. The game in May was a complete fluke, and I don't think we can possibly play as bad as we did in November

Interesting draw, Middlesbrough will give Arsenal a good game, Man United could potentially face cup specialists Sheffield United and Liverpool go to their bogey ground! Not clear cut at all!

Villa v Leicester could be tasty and West Brom v West Ham is a clash of the FA Cup dark-horses! Sunderland (or Fulham) won't relish going to Bradford, Blackburn would fancy upsetting Stoke (or Rochdale) and Derby should beat Reading.

West Ham could be kicked out of the Cup because Sakho may have been ineligible to play against Bristol City!

The club are insistent they've done nothing wrong but Senegal are furious. Its worth pointing out he wasn't selected for their Cup of Nations squad as he was injured. The grey area is if West Ham could play him during Senegal's tournament.

For what it's worth, this is SO West Ham its unreal  We have previous in this sort of thing with Carlos Tevez and 'Manny-gate' from 1999.

I could really see FIFA throwing the book at West Ham, but not sure about throwing them out of the cup? Obviously seems Senegal are annoyed that Sakho was fit to play for West Ham but not for the tournament, which is fair play really, as I'm sure they would have called him up even if he was not fit to play the first couple of games. Obviously it's all a battle of the legal teams now!

Yeah I could see that happening actually. With Tevez, we received a record fine but no points deduction. Although, FIFA rules suggest that the result would be overturned if West Ham are found guilty!

Needs to be resolved quickly though, the next round starts at the end of next week

Manny-Gate wasn't that Emmanuel Omoyimni who was an ineligible player for them in the League Cup back in 1999?

I think West Ham will probably get thrown out the cup. We shall see what happens.

Currently:

Man Utd 1-0 Cambridge Utd

Fulham 1-0 Sunderland

Sheff Utd 1-0 Preston

Probably the end of the road for Cambridge tonight.

West Ham have been fined £72,000 by FIFA over fielding Sakho in the FA Cup 4th round against Bristol City.

They have avoided explusion from the FA Cup and will play West Brom in the 5th round.

Bolton versus Liverpool currently on at the moment live on BBC1.

Steven Gerrard making his 700th appearance for Liverpool.

Could there be a surprise on the cards possibly?

Poor Bolton.

Never in doubt, they got a lucky penalty and so many decisions went their way. They played really well and played to their strengths, as Liverpool are not a physical team at all!

Said it before, but if Coutinho could finish consistently he would be world class.
