First of all i don't believe this for a minute cause the only date in September it was due to be released on was the 18th all along, NOT the 11th so Ms Newton is making up $h!te as usual.

And now it is due to be released on Oct 2. How could he possibly have released it on Sep 11 when he needs a single out weeks before hand -_-

And i highly doubt that Rob could care less about Justin as Timberlake will strugle to come close to selling over 300k like Rob always does. I am positive Justin will not sell near 300k in the first week, Rob's last album sold nearly 400k so their is just no compitition at all -_-

However from what i've heard of this dance album so far, i have liked nothing from it but i really hope Rudebox is a hell of alot better than the remix cause if it is'nt then i don't see Rob getting his usual massive first week sales :(

Scotty just because Robbie has big sales in the first week in the past, it does not necessarily mean it will happen for every album he releases. I hope he has a massive hit with 1974 but times do change.

I do think the time is right to change something in his career. Whether this is it, time will tell.

As for Justin, I do believe he will get big sales and probably his album will stay on top for a number of weeks. The press are pushing him hard enough, so I guess his management have put alot of money into their campaign. It is a pity they don't promote their homegrown abit more than the Americans all the time. Pisses me off big time it does and, I am just not thinking of Robbie when I say that.

BTW I think Justin has been copying Robbie anyway. He turned up on stage wearing a shirt, tie and waistcoat  now where have we seen that before  Also, his promo speech of how he came about producing this album and what influenced him is so very near how Robbie talkes of his, apart from different artists mentioned.

I am pig sick that JT has beaten him to the post with a similar album which is why we get silly comments from Victoria, god bless her Newton.

Oh i have no doubt JT's album will be huge, it will of course, but he will not get near what the likes of Rob and Coldplay get on first weeks sales. I have nothing against JT. I loved his singles and think he is extremly taleneted :)

I am aware this album may not be as big as Rob's others but i do however feel due to Rob's massive fan base that it will sell ridiculous ammounts in the first few weeks. Alot of the press are saying it is a return to form but i really don't see that from what i've heard so far but time will tell as you said. ^_^

Scoring with Robbie

MALAYSIAN fans of Robbie Williams will get a chance to watch him perform, for one night only, in Singapore on Nov 18. The Asian leg of his world tour, Robbie Williams: Close Encounters, will culminate at the National Stadium.

Robbie Williams will be perfoming in Singapore on Nov 18.

Promoter Michael Hosking said “the world’s favourite entertainer and most dynamic showman ever seenâ€, will also perform in Bangkok and Hong Kong for the first time in five years, and play dates in India and China for the first time ever.

Billed as the biggest musical event in Singapore this millennium, Williams looks set to ignite the famous “Kallang Roar†for possibly the last time at the stadium, where plans are underway for demolition.

According to Hosking, “the last time Robbie staged a concert in Singapore in 2001, all 10,000 tickets were sold out in a few days.

The show was fantastic and we anticipate a similar ticket sales trend, especially given the fact how spectacular this show is and how his fan base has increased ten-fold in the last five yearsâ€.

Fans who have kept the faith can expect an amazing show complete with six-storey high stage, 35 tonnes worth of pyrotechnics, lights and video walls, a roof specially brought in from Australia as well as assigning a crew of 400 for the whole production.

“Singapore is looking forward to an electrifying performance by this natural showman and iconic pop personality.

The city has always been a must-stop destination for many of the world's best acts in the performing arts and music scene and we are excited to welcome Robbie Williams back, as well as his fans from the region,†says Oliver Chong, director, Singapore Tourism Board.

The World Tour started in Dublin on June 9 and visits 14 countries on 44 different dates and will finish in Australia.

It is estimated his live audience will total 2.6 million.

For a weekend escape with Robbie Williams, fans can purchase tickets at www.sistic.com. Ticket prices start from SS$40 (RM92) to S$300 (RM690).

'Man of the moment' Justin Timberlake?

Am I missing something?

Member of a rubbish boyband.

Has released one solo album which did very well ( and which I bought). Contained about 4 good songs and loads of RnB fillers. I've played it about 3 times.

Has a second album soon to be released. Have heard one song which I don't like.

Has never had a Number 1 in the UK.

Has never sold out a stadium (and probably never will).

Has little cross generational appeal ( as far as I can see).

He's a good dancer.

When did Justin become some kind of music megastar who Robbie has to 'run' from?

Don't get me wrong, I think Justin is quite good. But he's not in Robbie's league. Nowhere near it.

If he's still selling out stadiums after 8 albums I'll revise my opinion. -_-

It's all Hype. Hype. Hype. Hype.

The UK press have been desperate for years to find someone to 'knock Robbie off his perch'. First Craig David, then James Blunt, then Shayne Ward  , now 'man of the moment' Justin Timberlake.

It's all a load of tosh. Who cares at the end of the day? If Robbie's successful and millions of people love him why can't they be supportive? It's just endless 'Lets Bash Robbie'.

There. Rant over. I feel better now. ^_^

I am pre-menstrual. :arrr:

I am pleased you feel so much better Jupiter, I felt better reading it. although I wouldn't put JB in the same class as Shayne Ward.

Great rant Jupiter

And another thing-

If people still fondly remember 'Rock Your Body' in 20 years time then I'm Kylie Minogue.

Nice rant Jupiter! The press love to create a battle where there isn't one don't they?

I actually feel sorry for Shayne Ward cos the single he released last week was a terrible song! (Went in @ no 14 last night.) Stupid Louis Walsh will kill off his career before it's really got going if he keeps giving him boring Westlife type songs to sing

Now Matt Willis on the other hand looks to be releasing some great songs!

T-Mobile offers fans front-row access to Robbie Williams’ Close Encounters 2006 Tour on their mobile phones with first-ever Tour TV and video live-streaming of concerts

T-Mobile

7/18/2006 12:56:27 PM

# RW Tour TV on dedicated MobileTV channel provides exclusive footage and insights from the Tour

# Live video streaming of the entire concerts in select markets

# Robbie Williams’ partnership with T-Mobile in association with Sony Ericsson continues to bring fans closer to their favorite popstar and his sold-out tour

07/18/06, As the sold-out Robbie Williams Close Encounters 2006 Tour continues its sweep across Europe, T-Mobile announces its offering of RW Tour TV and live video streaming of concerts to provide fans in its markets with front-row admission to his shows with no ticket necessary.

RW Tour TV

RW Tour TV will bring fans in its European markets closer to their favourite popstar’s concerts with exclusive, previously unreleased footage of Robbie Williams’ onstage performance, backstage and behind-the-scenes insights. Fans will experience a unique view of the shows beyond his exciting performance on stage and will truly feel they are "on the road" with the Tour.

This cutting edge mobile offering will be regularly updated for a total of 13 different shows throughout the European tour. The RW Tour TV program will consist of exclusive footage looped for each show that increases as the Tour progresses. The dedicated RW Tour TV channel is apart of T-Mobile’s MobileTV service and accessible via web’n’walk or under t-zones. Pricing for MobileTV varies per market. For example, in Germany the service costs approximately EUR 7.50 for a monthly MobileTV subscription or EUR 2.00 for 24 hour access and is also available as part of special tariff packages such as Relax XL.

T-Mobile customers in Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia can already enjoy the benefits of MobileTV on a large range of 3G devices in each market. The MobileTV service enables customers to access many TV genres including news, sport, music, comedy, youth and entertainment around the clock.

Live Video Streaming

Although the tickets for Robbie Williams’ Close Encounters 2006 Tour sold-out in record-breaking time, T-Mobile customers will have a chance to watch select concerts in their entirety via live video streaming on their mobile phones wherever they are. Shows in Hungary, Germany and Austria will be live video streamed to the countries hosting the concert. On September 19th, the Milton Keynes, UK concert will be live video streamed to Hungary, Germany, Austria and Slovakia. The next best thing to being there, the broadcast concerts will be a front-row view of Robbie Williams on-stage without a second missed, turning mobile phones into mini-concert stadiums.

Because live video streaming is available through the MobileTV service, the pricing is the same. Customers must have UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication Systems) enabled mobile phones to access the service. The MobileTV service uses this streaming technology to transmit pictures and sound.

The live video streaming service has proved especially successful for T-Mobile to bring their customers closer to their favourite events. T-Mobile was the first mobile operator to offer 20 live matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup™ to its customer’s mobile phones in Germany. Thousands of fans took advantage of the live video streaming proving that customers are embracing the service to gain access to must-see events wherever they are.

Live Video Streaming Dates:

July 19th – Budapest

July 28th – Berlin

August 18th – Vienna

September 19th – Milton Keynes, UK

In July, 2005, Robbie Williams and T-Mobile announced an 18-month partnership in association with Sony Ericsson. This ground-breaking partnership has enabled fans across Europe to enjoy exclusive mobile music content such as pre-releases, unique exposure to Robbie Williams and the perfect reason to start using their mobile phones as true music devices. T-Mobile is continuing to bring fans closer to Robbie Williams as lead sponsor and official mobile operator of his Close Encounters 2006 European Tour.

RW Tour TV is a new TV format that has never been done before by a mobile operator and along with live video streaming of his concerts are two more ‘firsts’ for a partnership of this kind. These are true differentiators for T-Mobile’s MobileTV since the content is not available by any other media and will enable customers to continue to remain close to the European tour.

PERLMAN: 'WILLIAMS WOULD BE A US HIT - IF HE HAD CALLED ME'

ROBBIE WILLIAMS failed in America because he wasn't marketed properly, US music mogul LOU PERLMAN insists. Perlman - the man behind BACKSTREET BOYS and 'N SYNC - boasts he could have helped Williams and his former boy band TAKE THAT become hits in the US, if he had been hired by their record label. Perlman says, "There's a reason why Take That and Robbie Williams didn't blow up in the United States. "They blew up everywhere else in the world but they didn't blow up here. You know why? Because they didn't call me. "It's all about marketing. We have a very good approach at getting our talent out there. Schools, different places where kids hang out."

18/07/2006 12:26

Yip. He probably is. EMI did the worst ever piece of marketing IMO.

But I honestly don't think Robbie cares any more. And it may have been a blessing in disguise. I think if he hadn't found the anonymity of LA he would have cracked up and quit showbiz long before now.

 I agree...I can take seeing him on the internet for his peace.

Although just ONE little concert in the US wouldn't hurt now would it?!?!?

I think he should organise a gig in New York, in Madason Square Garden. I would be quite sure it would sell out considering he does have quite alot of US fans and i'm positive ALOT of people from Canada and the rest of the world would love to see him perform in the US. :)

Oasis sold it out a while ago and well over half of the people their were'nt even americans ^_^

Yes. He could easily sell it out. When you take into account the number of Europeans living in the US, plus Robbie's US fan.

Of course, 50,000 Americans would buy tickets thinking it was a Robin Williams comedy show.
