this week gives a new record for most positions gained (3 by The Weeknd 'The Hills') and lost (36 by Katie Melua 'Wonderful Life'). And streaming also denies classic 'Tiny Dancer' from entering the top 40 but it finally gets a top 75 peak (it was never released as a single).

It did, but in the end, its overall sales peak was only 1 place lower than its chart peak, so The Weeknd has the record now, but could just as easily lose it if he picks up more on sales.
Ah I read it as most gained in a single week ever but then I remembered all the Xmas songs would surely have that distinction.

OUCH at Taylor Swift becoming the first act to miss the top 40 with a sales top 20 peak. We could definitely see this coming though as she still won't put her songs on Spotify.

The Hills breaks its own record increasing its peak difference to +8

MEGA OUCHNESS at Crowded House.

So we have our first ever top 40 hit thanks to streaming alone I believe. Wonder if sales will catch it up?

Lean On got this accolade in its first week top 40! Although sales did of course catch up with that. I'd imagine 679 will enter the top 40 on sales before long anyway, particularly if airplay catches on!

quite uneventful this week, but it's worth mentioning that Kate Bush 'This Woman's Work' re-entered the sales chart at #41 and is nowhere to be found in the official top 100!!!
